17.01.2022 When women attempt to birth in an environment that doesn’t deeply support physiology, complications and interventions commonly arise .... Calmbirth exists to equip participants with knowledge and confidence to experience their birth process with joy no matter how it unfolds! This sentence is from Rachel Reed at MidwifeThinking in her amazing new book Reclaiming Childbirth as a right of passage available from : https://www.capersbookstore.com.au//reclaiming-childbirth/... #calmbirth #empoweringcouples #empoweringwomen #lifesjourney #birthpreparation #positivebirth #birthwithconfidence #birthwithoutfear #conciousparenting #connection #mindbodyconnection #springwood #qld #brisbane #brisbanesouth #qualitychildbirtheducation #scientificallyproven #evidencebased #childbirtheducationprogram #withknowledgecomesconfidence #childbirtheducation #changingbeliefs #shiftingparadigms #knowyourmidwife #antenatalcare #privateantenatalcare #antenatal

13.01.2022 The Rhombus of Michaelis. Signs of labour progress such as this are integral to midwifery practice. To assess labour externally without relying solely on vagina...l exams, but on our senses. What signs or sounds do you notice in practice? Share your thoughts. "When women are leaning forward, upright, or on their hands and knees, you will see a lump appear on their back, at and below waist level. Its much higher up than you might think; you dont look for it near her buttocks, you look for it near her waist." . 09.01.2022 Any new parents on the Southside needing a good place to hangout?
09.01.2022 "The Mask of Motherhood" - Sometimes we are reluctant to talk honestly about our mothering experiences for fear we'll be seen or judged as "bad" mothers. So ins...tead, we pop on our "Everything is fine!" mask and keep on trudging on. Looking fine and put together on the outside, but feeling broken and alone on the inside WHAT IS A "JUST PEACHY" GROUP? Our JUST PEACHY groups are for expecting mothers, and mothers who have children aged 0 - 5 years of age. JUST PEACHY is a mothers group - but it is so much more than a mothers group too. Mothers need to feel supported and have solidarity with other mothers. We need to talk about what we are going through without shame and fear. Let our guards down and be real and honest. You might be surprised how much better you'll feel once you find a village of women who "get it" and you don't have to pretend! www.peachtree.org.au/bookings/ Our JUST PEACHY groups are safe guarded by our Perinatal Mental Health Peer Workers who have LIVED EXPERIENCE and understand what it's like to take the Mask off and find support. What happens at a JUST PEACHY group? Much the same as what would happen at a mainstream mothers group. We talk about our babies, we laugh at stupid stuff, we whinge about the mundane stuff. But we also acknowledge the difficult and scary stuff too. We don't have to hide our pain and mask our truth. If you are pregnant, or a parent of an infant or young child, and feel like you aren't coping - we welcome you with open arms at JUST PEACHY. There's no obligation at a Just Peachy group. You don't have to share anything you feel uncomfortable sharing. Just listening and being amongst a supportive environment can help. The beautiful thing about being a member of a JUST PEACHY group, is that we end up not only receiving support, but giving it too. We all have good days and bad days. On the bad days, we are held by the group and on our good days, we lift the group. This is peer support. We now offer JUST PEACHY groups in three locations across Brisbane (Geebung, Morayfield and Springwood) and now we also offer them ONLINE and accessible to all! A booking process is currently in place for our face to face groups, to help us manage numbers and social distancing. www.peachtree.org.au/bookings/ Our JUST PEACHY groups are FREE, because we believe that ALL mothers who need support, deserve support. Come find us
