24.01.2022 Some midwives do
23.01.2022 So worth a listen. I followed a similar path in my calling to midwifery. After graduating midwifery I left the public maternity system to work with amazing private midwives and provide woman centred care. Women’s birthing experiences are imprinted on them forever and influence the mother they become. All women should feel safe and respected and birth wherever and however they choose. Thank you to those beautiful people who are working for women in a system that conflicts your philosophy and by changing women’s birth experiences one birth at a time . I see you
22.01.2022 WA Health statistics reveal the number of women giving birth at home in WA jumped by 62.6 per cent in 2020
20.01.2022 How incredible is it to pass down the beauty and normalcy of birth to your children through birth itself Brand new brother Arlo supporting his mama through th...e home birth of his baby brother When I spoke with Kimberli about what was important to her about having her birth documented, it was Arlo’s interactions and reactions. How incredible that they now have tangible memories to look back on for generations and visually see how excited Arlo was to meet his baby brother for the very first time #perthbirthphotography #perthbirthphotographer #independentmidwife #familybirthcentre #birthphotographerperth #homebirth #perthhomebirth #homebirthperth #communitymidwife #communitymidwifeprogram #perthmidwife #perthnurses #perthpregnancy #postpartum #perthbasedphotographer #maternityphotographerperth #maternityshootperth #maternityphotoperth #perthnewbornphotography #perthborn #australianbirthstories #pregnantinperth
19.01.2022 Thank you MidwifeThinking for the visuals.
17.01.2022 Informed consent. In order for informed consent to be given. A client must know all their choices and understand the possible outcomes for whatever they are agreeing too. If it’s not given freely without coercion it is not informed consent. If it is any form of touch without consent it is assault. Unfortunately I hear many stories of women who are left traumatised after having things done to their body without consent.
15.01.2022 beautifully captured
15.01.2022 I’m really enjoying reading this authors work. I’m trying to get some copies for her book for our resource library. If anyone is interested in a copy please let me know and I’ll make a plan
14.01.2022 The real question is whether you want to give birth outside a hospital and run the minuscule risk of an emergency that might (but not necessarily would) be hand...led better in the hospital, or do you want to give birth in the hospital and run the considerably increased risk of infection, the certainty of additional stress, and the near certainty of having unnecessary (and potentially risky) interventions? http://childbirth-u.com/
13.01.2022 Another fabulous episode of this amazing podcast.

05.01.2022 Let Mom get more rest with this position after a cesarean (or great if you have a blocked duct too). This is not safe if you are not following the Safe Sleep 7 ...guidelines. This position is fine for daytime with your partner watching but not for bedsharing. Safe bedsharing can be an absolute game changer for breastfeeding moms. You feed all night and feel more rested as you’ve been dream feeding all night instead of getting up, getting pillows and getting more exhausted. I recommend reading Sweet Sleep - La Leche League and Dr James McKenna’s research (some great articles on his website if you search for infant sleep expert). Practice safe bedsharing during the day so it’s easy at night foe the first few times. Sleeping with your baby on the couch or chair is not safe. Breastfeeding moms share your experiences of going from up all night to resting all night with new moms struggling or about to give birth. Was it a game changer for you? #breastfedbaby #doulaviewllc #thebirthimpact #thelamazedoula #itsyourbirthdoula #itsyourbirth #breastfeedingadvocate #repost #csectionmama #csection #birth #newborn #nursing #atlantadoula #Atlanta #georgia
04.01.2022 With all the conversation around birth rights, it seems timely to re-share this reminder that, in our modern world, we’ve developed standards and pathways and g...uidelines which guide the health care that is offered in systems. But the standard path won’t be the best way for everyone and you might not think it’s the right one for you. Don’t forget that standards and guidelines are created so that bureaucratic systems can run smoothly. They are only an offer and it’s ok to say, ‘that’s not right for me’. Find out more in my book, "What's Right For Me? Making decisions in pregnancy and childbirth."
