21.01.2022 Yesterday we were presented with a cheque for just over $18,0000 by the State Attorney General, Yvette D'Ath for Redcliffe and Labor candidate for Caloundra, Jason 4 Caloundra. We are so grateful to the State Government for providing us with the funds for a panel saw which will make a huge difference to the shed.

19.01.2022 Everything is going full steam ahead with the new shed. Our Federal Govt funding money will start to come through very soon. We are deciding on who our builder will be and also planning the layout. Plans will hopefully be lodged within next two weeks.

17.01.2022 While I was away we received Grants/Slash Donations from the following Clubs. Thanks to their wonderful support not only to us but to all the Community and sporting groups that they do donate to. Without their support a lot of us smaller groups/clubs would be struggling. Caloundra RSL $1,000 Caloundra Rotary Club $1,250... With this money we were able to buy a defibrillator for the Shed. Caloundra Lions Club $1,200 With this money we were able to buy a new bench saw. Thank you once again.

13.01.2022 I am happy to report that thanks to the hard work of Sunshine Coast Council it looks like they have secured a suitable block of land for us for lease. Only 500m to our existing shed and in a great location. We have organised a surveyor to look at the block to see what and where we can build and then onto the next stage. Now onto money raising and getting grants.Will keep everyone informed.But for now I will be looking forward to our 2 month trip.

11.01.2022 Just to let everyone know. We have just signed a 3 year Licence with Council on our block of land they found for us. Council will then work on our Lease which I understand will be for 10 years. Now we can start applying for Grants to build a new shed. Thank you once again to the hard work Council have done to find us a new home.

08.01.2022 Great news just found out. All the hard work has been worthwhile. Andrew has been a great supporter of our cause since I became President. This latest announcement is just one of the many instances where he has been able to help us.

07.01.2022 Been a while since an update. After extended meetings with Council everything is now starting to move. Our shed is going to be built by Southern Cross Sheds a great local company who have been fantastic so far. Will give updates on who we are using for the different trades. We are probably about 4 weeks behind schedule due to making sure we get everything right first time. Also first lot of Federal Govt. grant money has come through. Thanks.

07.01.2022 Well at long last our design for shed has been approved contract signed with Southern Cross Sheds who have been fantastic. Funding from Federal Govt. has started to come through. One payment in our bank and we have applied for our second payment. Hopefully in two weeks time we should see some work started on the block of land. All this while we are dealing with what is currently happening.

05.01.2022 This morning I announced that a re-elected Morrison Government would provide a grant of $239,000 to Caloundra Men's Shed to build a new permanent and larger she...d. This new shed will secure their future, allow them to accept 30% more members and offer wood and metal work, a forge and paint shop. It is because of our strong economic management that the Liberal National Government can support community groups like the Men's Shed that does so much for the mental and physical health of our 28,000 local older men. #mensshed #wallace4fisher #caloundra See more

02.01.2022 As if our day couldn't get better The Caloundra Mens Shed was a finalist for 2nd Annual Fisher Awards which is the brainchild of our local member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace.There are some amazing people in our Community as well as Community groups. And the young people that put so much into our Community is amazing. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners.

02.01.2022 Received a phone call from Andrew Wallace our local Federal member and a great supporter of The Men's Shed saying we should be receiving a letter from the Deputy Prime Minister about our funding for our shed. Great news and a big thank you to Andrew from all the guys at our shed.
