Beautiful sunshine, impressive swimming, strong poolside support and school spirit made for a great atmosphere. Henzell House took out the winner’s title overall, while Mclean House claimed our Spirit Award We were proud to see all of our students doing their best and cheering each other on. A special shoutout goes to Year 12 student Cade Stowers for his incredible efforts, breaking the school’s age division records across all four strokes

17.01.2022 Class News by 4KC This term in Year 4, as part of our HASS unit, we have been exploring the concept of sustainability. We soon discovered the concept of Upcycling. Together this week we are participating in an Upcycling challenge to repurpose our rubbish, transforming it into something valuable to us. The ideas so far have been; Pot plants out of tin cans and bottles. Bird deterrents out of CD’S.... Watering cans out of drink bottles and containers. Stationary holders out of cardboard and toilet rolls. (class favourite) We have created a list of materials and tools needed to complete our projects and all of Year 4 are so excited to get started and make a small difference in limiting our own waste. We hope that by reading this you too are more conscious of what you are buying and using and thinking of how you might also be able to decrease you household’s waste and use of resources.

16.01.2022 Class News from City Stars Kindergarten A special welcome to our newest and littlest students of our school, and to our new families beginning their journey at Caloundra City Private School this year. Our City Stars children are eager and ready to learn. They are also well on their way to establishing great friendships. The City Stars have enjoyed exploring their new environments, sharing, taking turns and negotiating with each other during play. Favourite areas and acti...vities so far include, dinosaurs, sandpit, transport vehicles, dress ups and painting. We have already established good routines this year and have been introducing helpful habits to encourage this, including tidiness through role modelling. We look forward to following the interests of our children, families and community, and creating meaningful programs that are fun, interesting and allow for hands-on learning. See more

10.01.2022 You did it! A massive congratulations to our Year 12 2020 Graduates! Completing your studies during a pandemic, being the first cohort to start Year 7 in secondary school and to receive an ATAR under the new QCE system was no doubt difficult but this will prepare you well for the path ahead. Our whole community is very proud of you and we wish you all the best with all your future endeavours.

09.01.2022 Class News by 3JH For the past four weeks, the students in Year 3 have been heading off to Kings Beach for their annual surf safety awareness. During these lessons, students have learnt how to successfully ride the nipper boards and catch a wave back to shore on them. They have also been taught how to use flotation devices to rescue a struggling swimmer and how to place their patient in the recovery position when getting them safely back to shore. Flag races, duck diving ...and learning about the different flags, tides and rips all formed part of the four-week program. Not only did students relish the opportunity to get out of the classroom but the weather throughout the program was magnificent. Each and every student developed greater confidence in the water throughout the program which is a wonderful outcome considering that we have spent much of our leisure time in and around the water with our coastal lifestyle.
