19.01.2022 More insane footage of swell breaking through Bribie Island into the Pumicestone Passage! The combination of large tides, big swell and strong winds has finall...y managed to break through the northern tip of the Island. This occurrence has been likely for some time now with just metres of sand remaining due to years of erosion. We are hopeful that the impact to our waterways will not be significant but time will tell. Photo credit - Blueys photography

08.01.2022 New Year's Eve event cancellations Hi folks, @sunshinecoastcouncil have asked us to pass this message on to everyone staying over New Years:... Due to COVID-19 restrictions, particularly social distancing and contact tracing requirements, public community Sunshine Coast New Year's events are not able to proceed this year. The traditional New Year's Eve Mooloolaba event, and the community events in Coolum and Caloundra, were cancelled in October and no public New Year's Eve activities or fireworks are planned for the region. To ensure community safety, Queensland Police will have resources out across the region, particularly in Mooloolaba, Coolum and Caloundra, and as always, on the roads. Despite the public events not proceeding, the community is encouraged to celebrate and welcome in 2021 at one of the many restaurants and venues across the region or enjoy a quieter celebration at home with family and close friends.
