22.01.2022 This week we lost one of our Lighthouse family members Jason Visini (Big V). Big V was and always will be remembered as been the kindest guy to ever pull on the Black and Yellow, He was a gentile giant off the field and not so gentile giant on it. Jason locked down the front row for the Lighthouses though his teenage years into Colts and on to earning his fear share of A grade caps.... He went on to following his old mans foots steps (who might of watched every game he played) to become a policemen a truly fitting career path for Big V. For those who had the pleasure of playing or knowing Jason Big V Visini you are a better person for it! Our thoughts are with his family. The game they play in heaven just got a true great! Put in a good word for the rest of us mate.. love you! Details of his service to follow.

14.01.2022 RETURN TO PLAY UPDATE | Following on from yesterday’s State Government announcement with regards to with restrictions being eased to allow 20-people to particip...ate in outdoor sport as of Monday, June 1, with the traffic light system in place, we’re getting close to moving from Red to Amber. For this week, our status will remain Red, which means no official training activities can take place, while we wait for final sign off on the field sports COVID SAFE plan, that is currently with the Chief Health Officer for approval. Part of the plan is the appointment of a COVID SAFE officer at each Rugby club. Our Game Development team is working with sub-unions and clubs around the state to register these officers at each club, who will undergo training this Saturday, June 6, in preparation for a return to training hopefully next week. This is to ensure that we don’t hastily rush back into non-contact training without the correct procedures and restrictions in place, potentially putting at risk our return to playing regular matches under Stage 3 restrictions. In the mean time, there are some useful resources available via the Qld.Rugby website that will help clubs, administrators, players, parents and volunteers understand what training under Stage 2 restrictions will look like.
