23.01.2022 The first of two modules for the club house in Ikskile, Latvia have arrived at the new club. The second image shows the complete design. An underground autom...atic watering system has been installed, with 10 high power sprinklers (up to 60 litres per minute), and the the grass is growing well. Play is expected to start in May 2021, and the first international tournament will be the 10th Baltic Open GC tournament at the start of September. The project has been supported by WCF Development funding.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Howard Williams winner of the inaugural Doug Jones Memorial trophy for our golf players. It was lovely to see Rhonda present the trophy to a very worthy winner. Runner up was Peter Roberts. Everyone enjoyed a sausage sizzle after the presentations

06.01.2022 Our Lawns are closed this week......Why? Irrigation upgrade final stages. Some very large bore pipework and signal cabling being installed around our 4 top courts. This will enable connection of the latest technology Golf Course sprinkler heads which promise to supply our lawns with a far more even and controllable water coverage. Club member Don Helmrich is spending many hours this week to ensure thing run to expectations. ... Thanks for your efforts Don.

06.01.2022 A Xmas get together for the club members and to show our support to our sponsors the Maroochy R.S.L was held on Tues 15-12-2020. It was unfortunate that many me...mbers did not attend, but some very disappointed they could not make it there to support and enjoy the occasion. However, it was rewarding that those who did came along, got into the festive spirit and made it a thoroughly enjoyable time with lots of chatting and mingling. The two course Xmas fare luncheon was very enjoyable and more than adequate. The tables were decorated along with bon bons with the usual party fare jokes within, bringing a smile or grimace to the face but entertaining all the same. The RSL is to be thanked for their ongoing support and congratulated on the friendly service provided to us. See more

05.01.2022 The final touches to the irrigation project. We are extremely grateful to the Sunshine Coast Council and State Government without whose help with grants we wouldn’t have been able to complete this project. Thanks must also go to Bea Rogan and John Nealer who worked tirelessly on grant applications. And lastly Don Helmrich for overseeing the installation over the last week.

04.01.2022 The Doug Jones Memorial GC event started last week. 3 pm start on Thursdays for 4 weeks of handicapped singles play. 18 Members competed in absolutely brilliant... late afternoon conditions. 02.01.2022 The final phase of our 3 yr Irrigation project is finally nearing completion. Thanks to Don for overseeing this project and spending most of his time at the club this week. Men at Work!!

02.01.2022 One of Howard Williams's final shots against Judy Caughley in the Doug Jones Memorial Tournament. Not Classic Croquet but it was effective. Howard won the event with 11 wins over the 4 weeks out of 12 games. The event was handicapped and Howard was in the position of giving many other players up to 6 extra turns. Good Work Howard!... full results at https://croquetscores.com//doug-jones-c/4-week-round-robin See more

02.01.2022 Scarifying of Lawn 1 took place Mon 23rd Nov with top dressing on Mon 30th. With 4 runs over the lawn with the scarifying machine, it was estimated by Richard t...hat an average of 136 barrow loads of thatch were transported off lawn 1 to become mulch for the surrounding gardens etc. That’s a lot of walking. So a huge thanks to all the volunteers, Robyn & Kevin- Cheryl & Peter- Leigh & Richard- Bob & Don who worked physically hard out in the sun to maintain our lawns for the pleasure of other members to play on good lawns. 01.01.2022 Caloundra recently hosted a whirlwind tour of our Club by Queensland’s Attorney General, Yvettte D’Arth & Labour’s candidate for the upcoming elections, Jason Hunt. It gave us an opportunity to show, first hand, improvements made to our playing grounds. The Attorney General was then happy to announce that the Club was successful with its application to the GCBF for $22,400 which will allow work to commence on improving our sprinkler system. At the conclusion of this announcement, Yvette & Jason showed their style at running a few hoops.
