20.01.2022 Player Profile Ryan Stroud Ryan was a member of the Sharks 2014 A Grade Premiership winning team. Ryan had retired but has made a comeback for the 2020 Rugby League Sunshine Coast season, buoyed by the opportunity to play in a young exiting sharks back line. 13.01.2022 Sharkies Wrap The weekend saw big crowds turn out for three high quality games of Rugby League at Tinonee Oval, Home of the Shark. The young men and women of Caloundra played with passion, pride and skill to come away with 2 wins from 3 games. In a rematch of the Rugby League Sunshine Coast 9’s final the I Love Turf Caloundra Women’s side played Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club. Strong defense, slick passing and fast ball movement saw a dominant Caloundra team post 10 tries ...to 1 with the final score being 50-4. In a game where every player contributed, Makayla Henry 3 points, Ella Miller 2 points and Aimee Sheppard 1 point lead the team to a win and an impressive start to the season. Reserve grade lined up against Stanley River Rugby League Football Club. A tough physical game had Caloundra come up short by just two points. With a bit of luck and the continued effort these guys are showing we will see these men get a much deserved win very soon. 3 Points to Taj Greenhalgh, 2 Points Pierce Moore and 1 Point Lachlan Turner. Taking on the reining premiers, Stanley Rivers, the I Love Turf Caloundra A Grade team started strong, going into half time leading 28 points to nil. The second half saw a resurgent Stanley Rivers team but Caloundra held on to take the win 32 Points to 20. Making their debut in A grade for Caloundra was Casey Russell and SC Falcons player Matthew Milson. In a quality game 3 points went to prop Tyson Emerson, 2 points to Matthew Milson and 1 point to Ethan Gaffney. Speedster Walter Lauenstien scored a Hat trick of tries in his second game for the club. The club would like to thank everyone that attended the weekend’s games. In victory or defeat our players play with pride in the jersey, the club, and the town that supports them. That has always been the way at Caloundra and with this group of players it will be for a long time to come. Caloundra are on the road in April with Rugby League returning to Tinonee Oval May 1st.

10.01.2022 GAME DAY Rugby League for the second week in a row is at Tinonee Oval, Home of the Shark. Round 1 of the Rugby League Sunshine Coast Women's Competition starts at 2:30 with the I Love Turf Caloundra Sharks taking on the Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club. The Reserve Grade Men and A Grade Men take on the Stanley River Rugby League Football Club in Round 3 at 4pm and 5:30pm. Make a day out of it with three games of football for $5 entry. Enjoy lunch, 1pm to 3pm or dinner, 5pm to 9pm, at the I HEART FOOD Bistro. and live entertainment in the club after the footy till late. Everyone welcome.

05.01.2022 We have re-opened The Caloundra Senior Rugby League club has faced some tough times over the past 47 years but a forced three month shutdown was something none of us prepared for. The shutdown, the cancellation of the rugby league season and ongoing restrictions have forced the club to batten down the hatches. As with most businesses on the Sunshine Coast no income but all the same ongoing costs for three months have created difficult times. We will survive, however chang...es must be made to ensure our future. Limiting trading hours initially, limiting club resources available to members, compliance with Government restrictions and suspension of clubs activities such as draws, jackpots, members draws and giveaways are all decisions taken to get back on our feet quickly and ensure the club is here for another 47 years. Some will be disappointed, some will feel angry, other may not return but our decisions are about ensuring we are strong into the future. It is our hope that in time activities members and guests enjoyed can return. Until such time we hope you can understand our priority is keeping the club open, fielding 3 rugby league teams next year and keeping everyone safe. We as a club hope you can understand and look to return stronger with as many of you as possible part of our future. Thank you
