18.01.2022 UPDATE: Please refer to post dated 30th March for the most up to date information. Important Information Due to the lockdown in Brisbane ANYONE who has been in the greater Brisbane region (Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton, Logan, Redlands) since 20 March must not attend our school for the next 3 days. This includes children of essential workers.... There will be a significant number of students and staff who are required to self-isolate in their homes for the rest of this term. Regular classes have been suspended and there is no requirement for schools to provide online learning. Should your child need to attend school they will be supervised however no curriculum work will be provided. Students who are absent will not be penalised. All before and after school activities and extra-curricular activities are cancelled or postponed. All exams will be re-scheduled (including Year 12 exams scheduled for Wednesday 31 March), however assignments are due on their current due date. Submission of assignments will be electronic. 17.01.2022 Important Information - Update 30/3/2021 Thank you for your support of our school community during the 3 day lock down in Greater Brisbane. I am pleased to confirm following advice from Queensland Health, our school will be open to students from tomorrow Wednesday 31 March 2021 as all school staff are considered essential workers.... Students are expected to attend school provided they are well and have not been at one of the listed venues during the times indicated on the Queensland Health Website (https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing). Please regularly monitor the Queensland Health website for affected locations. Year 11 & 12 exams will proceed as scheduled tomorrow (12 Essential Mathematics, 12 General Mathematics, 11 Specialist Mathematics). Teachers have already been in contact with these students. All remaining Years 7-10 exams will be rescheduled to Week 1 of Term 2. All assignment work is due as already communicated by the classroom teacher. Year 7 & 9 NAPLAN Readiness testing will proceed as scheduled. All students are expected to bring their devices and headphones. 15.01.2022 We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Paul Murray, our current School Chaplain and congratulate him on securing a position of Chaplain at Mary Valley State College. Chappy has been a valuable member of our Student Services team and a great support to many of our students and families. His efforts and his work with our Pathfinders program will ensure the Chaplaincy legacy continues for years to come at Caloundra SHS. Good luck Chappy!
