At the end of the session Cara answered questions about how she got to where she is today. Cara plays for the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the Suncorp Super Netball and has also been selected this year into the Australian Diamonds squad. She started out playing her junior years here in Townsville. What an amazing resource for our students to have access to.

13.01.2022 In Week 3, Calvary students enrolled in Senior Ag Practices had the opportunity to observe and assist with the Colleges AI breeding program for our Senepol cattle stud. Our 3 maiden heifers were a part of a fixed time Artificial Insemination (AI) program conducted by our College Vet, Brenton Gosztyla. Our Senior students are learning about factors that affect animal reproduction and in planning for the Colleges Senepol stud, Brenton stepped the students through the AI process, the anatomy of a cows reproduction organs and breading cycle. We are thankful to 5 Star Senepol for their donation of semen for our stud breeding program and to Brenton Gosztyla instructing and overseeing the program. We hope and pray that we will be able to welcome 3 new calves to the Calvary Ag Centre in May 2021.

05.01.2022 Well done to all who participated in our annual Book Week dress up parade. Tuesday saw a colourful collection of book characters coming to life for the chance to win the prize of best dressed character in their class. With some incredibly creative and intricate costumes, the job of judging was a tricky one for all involved. This year our prize packs for the winners included a gift voucher to QBD books, a Smiggle stationary voucher and a pack of lollies for each winner. As our parents were unable to join us this year due to COVID restrictions, we were lucky enough to have our official photographer taking some class photos to share with those who couldn't make it on the day. Be sure to have a look through the great photo gallery and thank you again for celebrating a love of literacy with us.
