24.01.2022 Smoother night for Rd5 of the TFH Midget series on Sat ... No breakages thankfully! Timed 8th, heat1 finished 3rd, heat2 we burped a tyre which made it a little loose, finished p4 .. 5th on points. Feature I tried driving like I did the other week and lost a bunch of spots, gutter was the place to be, finished P7 - a decent clean night for once, we'll take that, car and setup felt great all night. 19.01.2022 Tough one for us last night for the Stan Burrow Stampede Big thanks to Lerlene Burrow and Brain Spann for the extra incentives for us to race hard last night ! Got raced in hotlaps, my bad for letting this happen, timed 9th heats managed 3rd after a spin, and 8th after gremlins struck. this put us 9th on points, finished 9th in the feature We fixed the gremlins, car ran great but I just failed to find speed-... positives: cars in one piece, dodged a couple of wrecks. 19.01.2022 Cool to meet Michael and team from Jurassic Blast who came today and cleaned up one of our spare chassis, stripping off the old rust and powdercoat to bare metal in a couple of hours, really impressed with how it turned out - The wet blasting process keeps the job cool avoiding any heat stress. 18.01.2022 Archy Wrap - Tricky gremlins struck again early for us, costing us all heat race laps, tough! Finally our last resort, swapping batteries did the trick and the car ran perfectly. Massive thanks to Craig Thompson Machining Pty LTD for rescuing our MSD which had lost its tune! Rod threw a feature setup in the car and it was on the money - we were out of 14th. Had some cool battles and passed a couple of cars to finish 6th, earning us the SpeedyAC hard charger award, so I handed... myself the $50 with a double bonus thrown in by Fwordspeedshop, legend! Wish we got our 25laps as promised but it got trimmed down to 20 for some reason, doh. Our crappy start to the night turned around even more when we lucked out with Bob Baker's prize landing on our grid spot, very cool thanks Bob! Will help us get back on track in a couple of weeks. 16.01.2022 What a night.. Congrats to Reid for taking the win in the QLD title, so happy for ya mate, on your first drive of the season too! Nuts night for us, broke an axle at low speed in hotlaps.. night over.... until Ricky #56 appeared and offered us his complete spare diff, so thankful mate. Quick thrash to swap that over and on for the first heat, car felt a little ugly and brought it home 5th. Turns out i'd broke the RR birdcage again ! Dylan #46 the legend got us out of trouble ...yet again :P Lined up 3rd for the next heat, got a bolter start and had a good battle with Glen N43 who took the lead then spun, doh. got the W Feature we were 5th on points, had a great battle with Brad #81, had to work hard until he made a small slip up and I could get underneath which put me up to P5, then unlucky for the fast southern #97 cars tangling/breaking brought us up to the podium p3, feelsgoodman. Setup was incredible, the car just did exactly what I asked, turned nicely and drove off like a rocket. 16.01.2022 Cool show of strength by the team last night, unfortunately the #3 didnt want to behave in hotlaps and not easily fixable, so we sent a rescue team back home to grab the #36 - thanks to Ben, Dad, JP, Bel and the kids across the road for helping to grab the spare car and trailer, while George Treye and I took the go fast bits off ready to swap over. Missed both heats but managed to get an engine start to get some heat in it- Thanks to those who helped us with a few bits and pi...eces to get us out there! Started off the back of the bus - Thankfully Rod's setup was in the window and we were able to find some drive and moved forward to finish P6 which was a good feeling to overcome the drama Lucky to be in this situation with a spare car closeby, and we made it work somehow ! 15.01.2022 Night 2 Wrap - Nuts! Firstly so glad that our crewman Terry is OK after a quick visit to hospital last night! Hotlaps we timed 4th on a perfect track after the sprintcars blew it clean for us, a front caliper drama locked up the LF on me causing me to spin, guys worked hard to fix this - thanks Col Ti Bolts and Race Partz for a couple of key bits Heat1 was pretty nuts, racing hard on a sloppy bottom track, climbed a wheel and got up into the fence, broke the RR birdcage - Bi...g thanks to Dylan #46 for the loan of the spare - my guys once again ripped into the car to make sure it was drivable, amazing job and got it back together in time for the next heat, finished 4th Feature lined up 7th, car was feeling great on a track with a sprinkle of rain that livened things up and actually gripped the surface up a fair bit .. 12.01.2022 Decent hit out at Toowoomba last night .. Mammoth effort by Rodney to prepare both cars during the week - was cool to have Graeme jumping in the #36 car for a skid. Feature - After all the mid meeting trackwork, it actually paid off and turned into a pretty awesome hooked up fast track.. Rodney put the setup right in the window. 07.01.2022 Mixed night at Archy, timed 8th in the best group, setup was great, but motor was just not at its full potential all night! Lucky to hang onto 3rd in both heats, tried a few things to help the motor.. then the thing didnt start in the feature .. doh. So a bit of sorting out needed.. will probably miss tbar this weekend, back on Dec 19 at Archy.
