25.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators day. This day acknowledges and celebrates their amazing contribution to the wellbeing and development of children. This year has been a year like no other and the educators at Little Learners have made their way through like true professionals. They have worked so hard to stay connected with the families who could not attend while also being totally present for the children still attending. I am so proud to be a part of this team, the love ...and care they show each and every day is amazing. We have been inundated with card, pictures, flowers and chocolate from our beautiful families who wanted to show their appreciation. To all of the educators at Little Learners, thank you all for everything you do each and every day

23.01.2022 Our 4 year old kinder group have just had their first excursion to Baptcare aged care residence. We had such a wonderful time engaging and forming relationships with all of the welcoming residents and exploring their beautiful gardens. Providing the opportunity for intergenerational relationships can help to foster a sense of empathy, break down stereotypes and form warm, positive and engaging relationships. We are really looking forward to continuing this relationship

23.01.2022 Our sustainability officer Krystal has created a beautiful display in our foyer about some of our sustainability practices along with some interesting facts about our centre animals. 20.01.2022 We have all been so distracted by everything that is changing in the world we almost forgot to water the plants! All children at Little Learners take great pride when it comes to caring for their plant life, always having watering cans handy. Each child learns about the importance of caring for others, whether they be person or plant .

20.01.2022 Our 3 year old group recently went on a community outing to explore Fritsch Holzer park in Hawthorn. It was a wonderful adventure that allowed our children to develop their confidence, gross motor skills and challenge themselves. We even found some pear trees! Such a wonderful way to spend the day, we are so lucky to have such beautiful spaces in our local community. 20.01.2022 Today we had Adam from Hey Dee Ho come to visit us. He ran a Music session with our nursery and toddler groups and their active8 session with our 3 and 4 year old groups. These sessions incorporate so many different skills such as gross motor, balance and spatial awareness. The active8 sessions also incorporate topics such as health and nutrition. The children absolutely loved it and couldnt wait to get involved. We are so excited to make this a regular incursion at Little Learners.

20.01.2022 Kinder information evening We will be holding a Kinder Information Evening on Thursday the 12th of March and we would love you to join us. This evening can help you to learn more about what happens in each room every day at Little Learners. Our kinder information session will also give you time to speak with our wonderful Kinder team. 19.01.2022 Our 4 year old kinder group have been very concerned about all of the animals that are being affected with the bushfires happening around Australia at the moment. To help them deal with this and put a positive spin on it for them we have set up a vet clinic for them to care for all sorts of animals. It has been so wonderful to see how compassionate and caring they are towards the animals.

18.01.2022 We incorporate the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) program in our 4 year old kinder room. This Australian Government initiative inspires children by driving a genuine interest in a new language and culture. Our children are currently learning French and are already showing huge progress. This week they have been bringing the program to life by acting out the characters and role playing the games involved. Today our kinders tried different foods and talked about different activities, they were then asked to say whether they liked the food and activities or not in French. It was so wonderful to see how comfortable and confident they were in speaking a new language they have only been learning for a few short weeks!

16.01.2022 At Little Learners we love to build strong connections and partnerships with our local community. Recently we were lucky enough to have some resources donated from Camberwell Childrens dentistry. The children have loved to explore all of the new resources that included some dress up, books and puppets. We would like to say a huge thank you to Jane and the team for being so generous.

15.01.2022 Graduation Day!! This year we were lucky enough to hold our kinder graduation at Camberwell primary school in their hall. It was a wonderful experience and another step in building a strong connection with the school. We would like to say a huge thank you to Camberwell primary school and to all of our families who came to celebrate. It was a wonderful night filled with songs, laughter and memories. It is amazing to see how much our kinder children have grown throughout the year. We are so proud of them all and wish them the best of luck in their new journey to school. 14.01.2022 We have been continuing with our partnership with Camberwell primary school by having some grade 5s come to visit our kinder room. It was so wonderful for our kinders to meet children from a local school and hear about their experiences within. They read some books in English and French and it was amazing to see the level of French our kinder children have picked up over the year. We then visited our local Camberwell fresh food market to see some more children from Camberwell primary sing some Christmas carols in English and French.

13.01.2022 This morning saw some beautiful dry weather so our toddler group decided to go on an adventure. They walked in the local community, played some games in the local park area and had morning tea surrounded by nature. What a beautiful day! They love to create play spaces that challenge and excite not only the toddler children but children from all of our rooms. Krystal is also one of our sustainability officers who loves to incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices throughout the centre. She would love to raise some much needed funds to help support the organisations working hard to protect their natural habitat and also contain the fires and support all of the emergency services that are working so hard. Kellie has added some pictures she took on a recent visit to a koala sanctuary. She is selling these pictures framed for $5 each. 10.01.2022 Say hello to our Nursery Team! We are so fortunate to have such a caring and nurturing team of Educators to look after and Educate our youngest members of Little Learners. Zunaira, our Nursery Room Leader, has been with us for close to three years and describes her Educator's Philosophy as one driven by working with children and being there to watch their growth and development at different stages in their early years. ... She's passionate about assisting children in reaching their developmental milestones, and thrives on growing her own professional practise to ensure she's providing the best quality Education and Care possible. Gurpreet and Pratibha are our Nursery Co-Educator's. Gurpreet enjoys being a part of Little Learners as she feels it's such a fun and enjoyable place to be. "We are like a big family and I have made some lifelong friends". Gurpreet is highly motivated and has a great desire to provide a warm and inviting space for each child. Pratibha believes it is very important in our role to provide valuable support to families by always keeping an open line of communication so families are well informed of not only their child's day, but also their learning and development, and also making sure the learning environment we provide for each child is safe and secure. 09.01.2022 Our toddler children have been out for their first walk of the year. They explored the local community, saw some trams and trucks drive past and saw a police car! They also visited the local pet shop to pick up some supplies for our centre animals. They loved exploring the pet supplies and watching the fish swim around. 08.01.2022 Our Pre-Kinder and Kinder Children have been busy in our gardens lately! Both outside and indoors growing produce for us to use here at Little Learners or take home and whip up a delicious meal!

08.01.2022 We understand times are hard here in Victoria at the moment, so our Kinder children saw this as the perfect opportunity to escape the madness and dive into outer space! They have been busy learning about the planets through artwork and song, as well as making new discoveries about the moon cycles.

We at Little Learners have been continuing to share with children the importance of hand washing and making sure we are there to support them so they are aware of proper procedures and are able to complete the task successfully and with minimal assistance.
