21.01.2022 Hi Cambridge families Just a reminder for ordering and fitting of uniforms. The scheduled time for our club is Sunday 28th. 12.30pm to 2pm.... Transition Sports 1/9 Horne St, Hoppers Crossing. 0409 510 698.
20.01.2022 Hi WBA members, As many of you will have seen the Victorian government has announced lockdowns of specific postcodes. Thankfully, no postcodes within Wyndham have been included, so our operations remain open and the dates we have outlined for a return to domestic competition remain in place. Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation and will act if further restrictions demand it. However, we know these lockdowns and the news of positive cases in some locals schools... will impact a number of our members. On advice from the Victorian Government and Basketball Victoria, unfortunately any athlete, coach, spectator or official who meets any of the below criteria cannot partake in any WBA competitions, trainings or programs until advised by the relevant authority: a) Live within one of the locked down postcodes, or b) Have been advised to self-isolate by a government authority, or c) Have been advised to self-isolate by a school (e.g. Hoppers Crossing Secondary College) You can see Basketball Victoria’s latest update on Covid-19 information here: http://basketballvictoria.com.au/covid-19/ As outlined in that update, under 18s continue to operate under BV’s Orange-50 rating, while over 18s remain at Orange-20. The WBA continues to implement additional Covid-19 safety measures for all activities, including extra cleaning measures and hand sanitiser for all WBA activities. The VJBL has also announced that it will NOT return on July 17 and we’ll keep you up-to-date as we hear any further news on the season. There is still no return date for Big V at this stage. We thank our community for their understanding while we navigate the return to the court. If you have any questions or concerns about the current situation please feel free to contact our staff on 9742 5440 during office hours. Kind regards, Paul Jones & the WBA Executive Committee 03 9742 5440 Eagle Stadium (35 Ballan Rd, Werribee)

17.01.2022 Update from WBA board Today the State Government announced that the greater Melbourne metropolitan region (including all of Wyndham) will recommence Stage 3 lockdowns as of midnight, July 8 (Wednesday night) for 6 weeks. Unfortunately this means all WBA programs, training and competition will cease immediately, for at least the length of the lockdown. Throughout this pandemic the WBA has been committed to following the expert advice of the State Government, DHHS and B...asketball Victoria to ensure we place the health and safety of our community above all else. We knew at the very beginning of this challenging time that we would need to be flexible and that dates were always going to be subject to change, and unfortunately that time is now. All WBA activities WILL NOT run during this 6 week lockdown period. This includes: Our Junior Domestic competitions will not return next week, nor Senior Domestic the following week VJBL rep teams will cease their organised team trainings at Eagle Stadium, effective immediately. This will also have a major impact on the return of the VJBL season we will update members when further details are provided from the league. Big V training and games again we will update as news becomes available from the league Term 3 programs such as Aussie Hoops, Hoops Academy, DDP and The Edge will all be postponed until restrictions are lifted. The WBA office will be closed and staff will work from home you can contact the office staff via our phone 03 9742 5440 (which will be diverted) and [email protected] The WBA will continue to stay at the forefront of the government, DHHS and Basketball Victoria information and we remain committed and determined to ensure we are ready to return to our sport when the experts deem it safe to do so. As soon as decisions are made on return dates for our domestic competitions, programs and training, we will let you and our entire community know. We urge our community to look out for one another during this time. Please continue to follow the government guidelines to help ensure we all get through this.
