25.01.2022 COVID-19 Practice Restrictions As of Monday this week we have temporarily closed the practice and limited our procedures to the following; - Management of patients with acute dental pain e.g. endodontic treatment under rubber dam, or extraction... - Management of significantly damaged upper front teeth (e.g. due to trauma, with restorative treatment provided under rubber dam - Management of complex medically compromised patients with dental concerns which may compromise their systemic disease Please send your referral to [email protected] for us to triage and manage accordingly. 22.01.2022 Introducing our ever so friendly, Specialist Periodontist, Dr Julio Rincon Julio graduated as a Dentist from Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia in 1987. Then he completed a specialist degree in Periodontics from same University in 1991. Julio practised as a periodontist in Colombia for seven years and Lectured undergraduate students at Javeriana and Colombia National University. After migrating to Australia, Julio started a Doctorate degree in 2001 at The University of ...Queensland. He completed his PhD degree in 2004 and started lecturing Periodontology at UQ School of Dentistry until 2007. In 2008 he moved to Perth and took the position as Head of Periodontology Department in the School of Dentistry at The University of Western Australia. Julio is a Senior Lecturer in Periodontology and teaches undergraduate dental students and also teaches and supervises students as part of their Periodontology specialisation degree. 18.01.2022 Woman Who Experiences No Pain May Help Researchers Develop New Medications. CNN (3/28, Hunt) reported that a 71-year-old Scottish woman experiences no pain. Her health care providers decided to analyze whether her lack of pain sensitivity was due to genetics and found it was caused by a mutation in a previously unidentified gene. In a case study published in the British Journal of Anaesthesia, researchers explained the discovery could help guide new treatments for a range ...of conditions, from post-operative pain to anxiety. Co-lead author of the study Dr. Devjit Srivastava said, The implications for these findings are immense. ... The findings point towards a novel painkiller discovery that could potentially offer post-surgical pain relief and also accelerate wound healing. Dr Park is our Specialist Prosthodontist and the newest specialist to join our team here at Cambridge Specialists Dr Park was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2002 at University of Otago. She worked in successful private practices as well as a dental hospital, during which she also completed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Primary examinations in 2005.... Dr Park is a registered specialist prosthodontist who has completed a three-year full-time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2010. During her time at the University, she gained vast clinical experience in the prosthodontic rehabilitation of complex clinical cases and the provision of fixed and removable reconstructions. In 2011, she moved to sunny Perth with her family to take up a prosthodontist position at UWA and has been actively involved in teaching the next generation of dentists. She also worked in a specialist prosthodontic clinic and several dental clinics as a visiting prosthodontist including Maxillofacial and Dental unit at Royal Perth Hospital, where she has experienced in treating medically compromised and head and neck cancer patients. Pantea, graduated her Bachelor of Dental Science degree with Honours from UWA in 2003. She then moved to New Zealand where she practiced hospital and private dentistry. She then moved to Brisbane where she worked in general private practice before returning to Perth for her doctorate training in 2009. Dr Motearefi has been practicing specialist Endodontics since 2011. She has also been involved in teaching at undergraduate level for the past 8 years at UWA.
