16.01.2022 Having the authority over your own life is something many of us take for granted but unfortunately not a right which is recognised for everyone. This video from Open Future Learning highlights the rights, choice and control people have in their own home. It provides a powerful message about being in charge of your life in your home regardless of renting, or owning as it is your home and not just a place to stay". The song was written by Adrian Kennedy and produced by Open Future Learning. For more information on Open Future Learning visit: http://www.openfuturelearning.org/

10.01.2022 The NDIS in WA Conversation on Friday, 9 June and Saturday, 10 June 2017 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. This two-day event is being hosted by the Disability Services Commission in partnership with the Disability Coalition, a collection of advocacy organisations, consumer representative groups and peak bodies in the disability and mental health sectors. This event will be independently facilitated. It's really important to us that a wide range of people from a...cross the State and with different disabilities attend the event. People with disability, their families and carers are invited to register their interest to attend, whether they access NDIS supports or not. People living in regional and remote areas can apply for some funding for travel and accommodation to support them to attend the event. We won’t be able to fund everyone, but we will try to ensure that we have a cross section of people from regional and remote WA. Registrations to express your interest to attend are now open and will close on 18 May 2017. Online: http://www.disability.wa.gov.au//the-ndis-in-wa-conversat/ Phone: 9426 9337 (TTY 133 677) Email: [email protected] Post: The NDIS in WA Conversation c/o PO Box 494, West Perth WA 6872 People are also encouraged to provide additional ideas, comments or feedback about the topics for discussion by phone, in person, email, or by completing the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NDISinWA.
