07.01.2022 Sound Meter Apps help for thunder fear! Storms are causing concern for many dogs and their owners right now. While there are many components to a balanced solution, one is to investigate if you can give access to a sound-proof Den. How do you determine what rooms or areas of your home are sound-reduced? You can download a sound meter app (there are many) for your smartphone. Go from room to room and measure the decibel level of the ambient noise in each room. I have found a few rooms in homes I visit which score less than 20 decibels thats very quiet. Which rooms? Walk-in wardrobes and laundries mostly. 04.01.2022 I am very excited to be holding a behaviour workshop with the NVC Veterinary Training Centre next weekend. This is for vets and vet nurses who are interested in learning about behaviour management of cats and dogs. This workshop has a particular focus on aggression. The workshop is on Saturday 28 April 1pm-5pm and Sunday 29 April 9am-5pm. 01.01.2022 AUSTRALIA POST PARCEL LOCKERS BENEFIT THIEVES I have an interesting observation about Australia Post parcel lockers. Because Australia Post do not have the identification details of persons who use the lockers, the lockers can be used to receive stolen goods. I speak from experience. Someone purchased $550 worth of goods from our site with a stolen credit card. We know they received them because we use the tracking code on our express post bags. But we cant find them because they are invisible. And of course, NAB who we bank with, wont suffer the cost and have debited us for the fraudulent funds.
