25.01.2022 Well obviously there are some out there that think our super hero is Will. Well lets put that to bed, as this photo will show, our super hero is nothing like Will. Here they are, posing together !

25.01.2022 Our resident lefty, Ryan Sakowicz selected as one of the ball boys at the Apia Sydney International tennis open. Pictured here in his uniform, in front of the scoreboard.

23.01.2022 Saturday morning coaching for this term has just finished and I wont see many of the kids until next year. A couple had injuries and a couple were sick for their last lesson in 2012. I hope you all have a speedy recovery and a great Christmas and Ill see you in February 2013.

22.01.2022 January 2014, saw the wife and I travel to Melbourne for the Australian Tennis Open. It was unfortunate, that the temperatures were extreme, around 42 to 44 on all 3 days we visited. How the players coped with these temperatures is beyond me. It certainly took the edge off the trip, comfort wise, and seeing a number of players fall to the ground while playing in this extreme heat certainly raised concern about the players welfare. The non completion of the Margaret court aren...a and when the temp just got too hot for play, they cancelled play until temperatures dropped. This saw hoards of people crowd into the Rod Laver arena entries, seeking respite from the heat. For those of us who paid for entry into the Rod Laver arena to watch matches, it was almost impossible to gain access to toilets and food supplies because of the crowds sitting and just standing in the foyer areas. The standard of tennis was fantastic, but again the venue struggled with huge crowds and the weather. It will be another couple of years before we venture down to Melbourne to see the tennis again.

22.01.2022 Thomas Wegener and Judd Cosio are 2 young boys progressing with exceptional speed. Both are developing their ground strokes very well and now concentrating on the serve. Both value their time on court and its paying off nicely.

21.01.2022 Ryan Sakowicz has ventured over to Southern Districts in search of stronger tennis and through his results in the junior competitions has been selected to play in their Inter District Tennis teams representing the whole of Southern Districts. A great effort and a great honour. Keep up the great work Ryan.

21.01.2022 Luke and Connor Burgin have also ventured over to Southern Districts in search of stronger competition tennis and through their results in the junior competitions have also been selected to play in the Southern Districts Inter District Tennis teams representing the whole of Southern Districts. A great effort and a great honour. To top it off, they have just won div 5 of the Southern Dist Junior Comp and this will see them promoted up to a higher division for the next comp. Keep up the great work boys !

20.01.2022 Not only did I have the opportunity to chat with Ken Rosewall, but had the opportunity to see some great tennis. I was there on Thursday the 10th Jan, to see ladies semis , the mens quarters and the mens doubles semis. Great tennis at our local venue.

17.01.2022 A little one on one rally with Maclean on Monday night just past, results in a nasty finish. Falling over a ball that Macca intentionally rolled onto my side of the court, has left me with a nasty and somewhat swollen ankle. Macca also felt it was important to let me know that he won this particular point and further that because I could not complete the game, he has claimed a forfeit.

17.01.2022 Emily has just become our latest licensed driver. Blitzing the test with a score of 100%. Shown here with her nice little car and her nice little sisters, Im sure shell enjoy her new found freedom. Im just not sure her dad will enjoy this new found freedom as much as Emily. As far as her tennis is going she is one solid tennis player now and can jump straight into the Div 1 Mixed at the Club, when her other sport commitments have concluded.... Emily concentrates well in her tennis lessons and values her time on the practice court and Im sure she will take the same attitude with her, when driving on the roads. Well done Emily, lets hope all the boys coming up to their license testing stage can do just as well.

17.01.2022 Saturday morning tennis coaching for beginners. Started on the 21st July and continues for 8 weeks. These 5 young girls are very talented and are bound to be fantastic players in the near future !!

17.01.2022 Charlotte making her presence felt in the local Camden District Junior Tennis Competition, Div 2 Mixed. Charlotte and her partner were pipped at the post in the final recently completed. Charlotte is another junior that values her time on court and is developing her game in quick time. It wont be long before she goes one step further and wins a final. Keep up the great work.

17.01.2022 In the last Xmas school holidays a couple of mates and I took a ride to the Great Ocean Road again. Last years trip we were subjected to extreme heat of 44 degree days, almost for the entire week. This year we were lucky enough to miss the heat (the Ausie Tennis Open wasnt so lucky). I took the new bike for a spin and what a great ride it was. Marvelous what a difference good weather makes to a bike rider. The new BMW 6 cylinder performed very well and proved to be very comfortable of long runs. The attached graphic show the bike at the top of the mountains near Jindabyne while making our way home.

16.01.2022 I always wanted to do the Great Ocean Road trip on a motor bike and this holidays I did just that. With a couple of mates we did a 5 day trip down to Victoria, via the Great Ocean Road and back through Khancobin NSW. The only down side to the trip was that it was during the heat wave. Most days were in excess of 42 degrees, with the highest at 44 degrees. It meant ditching the leathers and plenty of fluids. It was a good trip, but would have been a lot better if it was an average of 20 degrees cooler each day.

16.01.2022 Dana from our Saturday morning group coaching has excelled at her lessons and made learning tennis look easy. Her top spin forehand and backhand are exceptional. Keep up the great work Dana.

16.01.2022 Wishing all my students and their families a very merry Christmas and a great new year.

15.01.2022 It wasnt so long ago, when I was playing Macka in a little game at the end of the lesson, that I stepped on a ball left on the court (by Macka) and ended up with a nasty ankle injury. I said at the time, "I dont get angry, I just get even". Well payback is sweet. The other night at squad, Macka and I were on opposing teams in a game of doubles, when his partner put in a very short lob. The rest they say, is history. Macka has ended up much the worse for wear, with a direct hit. Hit where, you may ask. Ill let Macka tell you where. But suffice to say, I must have good aim to hit a target that small.

15.01.2022 Saturday Morning Tennis Coaching at the South Camden Tennis Club (next to Tigers Soccer oval), has finished for term 3. Term 4 coaching will commence on the 13th October 2012.

15.01.2022 Thanks to Mark Ratcliffe for taking some great action shots of the kids as they go through their lessons on Saturday mornings. Hes done an exceptional job and Ill post some more up on this site, as the weeks go on.

12.01.2022 A couple of my students, Sarah and Nat, went to Forbes to visit their grandparents over the Xmas holidays. While they were there, a local came across a king brown snake and killed it on the 25th January 2013. Check out the size of this predator. You often wonder what gets forced out of their holes when flood waters keep rising. Well this is one snake I wouldnt like to run into !!

11.01.2022 Recently Brooke finally went for and obtained her license. She's now our latest licensed driver, scoring a brilliant 100% in her test. Pictured here with her snapy little car and her snapy little sister, I'm sure her mum Jenny, will enjoy not being mum's taxi for at least one of the kids. Although Brooke is a very solid tennis player and should be playing Div 1 Mixed, she's now got to stop playing comp and concentrate all her efforts on the fast approaching HSC. ... Brooke has been a fantastic student, with a great sense of humour and she will be greatly missed around the courts at South Camden. I'll take this opportunity to wish her well in the upcoming exams and I'm sure she will be a valued employee at what ever job she obtains.

10.01.2022 Grace was also pipped at the post in the recently completed Junior comp final. She has however been rewarded for her performances in the competition and been promoted to Div 1a Girls. Grace is another student who has recently hit her straps and the results of her hard work are now showing. Im sure it wont be long before you reach another final and this time finish on the good side. Well done.

08.01.2022 Lara from our Saturday morning group coaching has made huge improvements in relation to her co-ordination and her tennis strokes over this last term. Great work Lara, keep it up.

07.01.2022 Jacob from our Saturday morning group coaching has shown good improvement at his lessons this term. His top spin forehand and backhand are improving well. Keep up the concentration, great work Jacob.

06.01.2022 We get visited by some unusual super heroes. This is NOT one of them. This one is a bit creepy, hangs round in all the wrong places and is desperate to find a girl friend. Any ideas who it could possibly be ??

06.01.2022 We've just started a new junior tennis competition at the South Camden Tennis Club courts called 'Introduction to competition tennis'. This competition is for the students that have never played comp before, are a little nervous about what to expect in the competition arena and are a little unsure in themselves whether they are ready for competition tennis. By the end of this competition they will be better informed, better educated and better players. Each week we will post action shots of the days play to share with the players, their parents and their followers. You can find all relevant competition information on our website.

04.01.2022 South Camden Tennis Club was recently broken into, the thieves gaining access through a solid timber door. Once inside they took everything they could lay their hands on. Also damaging the glass entry door to the club, to get to the drink machine. Keep your ears to the ground, if you know or hear anything, please let the Narellan Police know about it.

04.01.2022 The Div 2 Mixed Winners R Grinners Junior Competition has just been completed prior to the end of the school term. With team Condors:- Casey Walsh, Kate Lacey and Megan Sproule taking out the competition in the closest of margins, by one point. That single point however, got them $240 in prizes. Compare that to the runners up team Falcons, who received $90 in prizes. That 1 point was worth $150. Congratulations to all winners, well see you back again next year.

04.01.2022 Alex helps his team take the title in the recently completed Camden Tennis Association Junior Competition, Div 2 Mixed. Taking out the final in convincing fashion Alex has been rewarded for his hard work and determination on the practice court. In his first attempt at competition tennis, he was graded and successful at Div 2 and has now been promoted to Div 1. If he can maintain his focus it wont be too long before hes back in the winners circle.

04.01.2022 Ryan Sakowicz has just completed his first Inter-District Tennis Competition, representing Southern Districts. His team in Div 3, finished runner up in the competition and for a first timer that is a great result. Shown here with his runner-up trophy.

02.01.2022 I was also down at the Apia Sydney International, where I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Ken Rosewall, who was there to do some signings of his new book, Muscles. He was gracious enough to pose for a couple of photos with my wife and I. He is for ever accommodating and all round nice guy. Its not often you get to chat with a legend of the game, plus he autographed my copy of his book.
