25.01.2022 It is said that anyone who plays an instrument today at the same standard as yesterday, is relatively speaking going backwards. How then do we move forward? I believe it's by challenging ourselves, by pushing the envelope of our abilities, by never saying I can't do that, by playing new genres, regular practice, by immersing ourself in what we play and above all, a belief in yourself. We are very fortunate as a Community Band to have a Musical Director who through tireless p...atience, perseverance, dedicationand ingenuity has nurtured the development of Camden Community Band to a new level of achievement. But this is only the beginning. I believe that in 2020 we should enter our band in the national championships at a competitive level not just as a performing band. We are experienced in performing, so it's time to move on and leave our mark on the music scene. One criteria for this is infusing the band with new blood and vigour. We need to attract more and also younger players with enthusiasm for music and the desire for accolade. I want to be part of a band that the Macarthur community will talk about as being entertaining and memorable. I want that band to be, Camden Community Band! Ask yourself, what will I do to meet that challenge?
24.01.2022 Dear CCB member, Since the launch of our new website, we have streamlined how music charts are distributed without any noticeable hick-ups.... The next area for refinement is the way that we register our intention to play at gigs/performances/concerts, so that rather than completing a form at rehearsal, we can now complete the form on-line. This process is just as simple as downloading your monthly charts. To complete the form you must have access to loggin to camdencommunityband.org.au. Hover over Notices then Click on Gigs Registration

08.01.2022 Camden Community Band is a real asset to the Camden Community and the MacArthur district. Director of Music Murray Bishop who is a well known Camden identity is thrilled with the bands growth in membership and musicianship. The band is now performing extremely difficult music as well as the standard charts and recently received a standing ovation with their rendition of The Caliph of Baghdad at the Crookwell Night of The Proms. The Sydney Opera House Concert in 3 weeks is so...ld out and in July they will present a joint concert at the Camden Civic Center with the WORLD FAMOUS FIRE AND RESCUE BAND. Murray said on some nights at practice their could be any combination of 8 trombones, 4 tubas, 10 trumpets, 8 saxophones, 4 flutes, 8 clarinets, a double bass, a bass guitar, a guitar and 3 percussionists. The band rehearses on Tuesday nights at the CAMDEN SENIOR CITIZENS CENTRE John Street Camden. Do you play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument as all new members are welcome. See more
