05.01.2022 Camden Cycle Club committee would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, we are looking forward to 2021 and hopefully some return to normality. Despite the challenges this year we have still managed to kick some goals. We have welcomed many new members to the club, many of whom have embraced the culture of the club and attended social events, given racing a try and helped out at events, we can’t tell you how much we appreciate it.... Over 70% of members have raced at least one which is amazing. We hosted our largest race ever with the Downes Nursery Classic attracting 141 riders from over 20 clubs and thanks to our volunteers everything ran so smoothly. When a long time member Craig McCarneys lovely wife Justyna was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, the club came together in one loud voice to raise funds for Justyna surgery with over 100 people riding to Burragorang lookout and the many people that rode the Everest challenge, with special mention to Dan Pomering and Jacob Jenkins who completed the challenge solo. A big thank you to our club sponsors Dawbuts, Antonia Albert, Eagles Automotive and Downes Nursery who’s enthusiasm for cycling have helped the club out greatly, please support them if you can. We are looking forward to a return to racing with the Interclub series which is so much fun kicking off in February, they might as well engrave our names on it already :) Construction has begun on stage 2 of Narellan Sports Hub where we will have a new criterium track under lights which will change racing in the area allowing us to run larger events more often as well as a juniors program and more.
