25.01.2022 CDCA Boys Representative Trials 2020/21 season Dates: Sunday August 16th and 23rd 2020 Location: Raby Sports Complex... Times: Under 12 Cawsey Shield 8.30am 10am Under 13 Gee Shield 10am 11.30am Under 14 Moore Shield 11.30am 1pm Under 15 Weblin Shield 1pm 2.30pm THE CDCA REQUIRES PLAYERS TO DO THE FOLLOWING 1. Do not wear previous representative clothing to trials. Please wear club training or alternative comfortable sports clothing. 2. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time and bring own cricket kit and water. 3. You must be available for training every week from the selection date until potentially 20th December (if the team makes finals). 4. You must be available to play every Sunday from 11th October 2020 until 20th December 2020 THINGS TO CONSIDER PRIOR TO ANY JUNIOR PLAYER TRIALLING If you are unable to make either trial date for any reason an email must be received by the Rep Coordinator prior to the trial start time explaining the reason and if medical must be accompanied by a doctors certificate. Selections will be posted both on the website and Facebook on Monday 24th August 2020. A 13-person squad will be selected in each age group.

25.01.2022 Hi All With the predicted heat tomorrow, the CDCA has changed tomorrow’s start times and formats. Stage 1 - All games will start at 8am... Stage 2 - All games will revert to 20/20 games with no changes to start times (i.e 8am) Stage 3 - No change. Please pass this on to all your Coaches, Managers, Parents of junior cricket.

24.01.2022 Hi All, Its almost CRICKET SEASON! The CDCA with assistance from CNSW and Campbelltown-Camden Ghosts have been able to secure and provide a Level 1 Community Coaching Course. The course is being facilitated by local Ghosts First Grade player, premiership winning captain and current Cricket Australia Level 2 Accredited Coach Hannah Trethewy.... This coaching course is recommended for: - Volunteers involved in coaching junior club, school and community cricket teams. - Talented youth cricketers who are keen to be involved in coaching junior teams. - Players considering playing overseas during the off-season. The course provides technical skills, game understanding, teaching techniques, effective ways to conduct training sessions and awareness of the factors motivating young people to play and enjoy cricket. Please share this information amongst junior coaches and parents of your clubs. Date: Monday 28th September 2020 Time: 5:00pm 9:00pm Venue: Raby Oval: 1191 Raby Road, Raby NSW 2566 Cost: Free Other Notes - Due to COVID, the course is limited to 20 participants. - Participants must have a Cricket Australia Coach ID number. 24.01.2022 The CDCA are looking for expressions of interest from Under 16 and 17 players to participate in this year's Watson Shield Competition which will be run by the NSWDCA in line with Telegraph and Martin Shields. The competition will consist of 5 rounds beginning on 25th October and then a 3 part final series, so a total of 8 weeks if they make the grand final. 23.01.2022 The CDCA would like to receive expressions of interest from those who would like to be considered to coach a Representative side in 2020 Rep season. We will be looking for 5-6 coaches. CNSW has a requirement that all coaches be Level 2 accredited although we will also accept nominations from others who are working towards the same (Preference though will be given to those suitably qualified). 21.01.2022 The CDCA is inviting girls who would like to represent the CDCA in either the Mollie Dive (U13) or Margaret Peden (U15) representative teams this season to complete a nomination form which can be found on the CDCA website under the representative cricket tab. Please email the completed form to [email protected]. This season the competition will begin on 31st January and consist of 7 rounds and then the finals series. Nominations will be accepted until Wednesday 25th November and the trial dates TBA.

12.01.2022 An important message from the Ghosts Grade Club: On behalf of President Morris Iemma and the Management Committee, I, unfortunately, have to inform you that the Ghosts Cricket Academy will be temporarily closed whilst we all deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past week, I have had numerous pieces of correspondence on the topic which has led to Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW closing down all cricket-related activity.... The CCDCC has directly fallen in line with our governing bodies. Yesterday I received a lengthy email from the Chairman of The Sydney Cricket Association. An excerpt from that email reads... "While uncertainty exists around Covid 19, the SCA recommends that Clubs should postpone all other cricket activity including AW Green Shield trials and or training, winter development squads and specialist training sessions." On the back of this, all SCA Finals have been cancelled and CNSW staff are working from home. We have also received strong advice from Dr John Orchard the Chief Medical Officer for Cricket Australia. We understand that your child will be disappointed and hopefully his / her hunger for our game will increase. Please note the Ghosts have also cancelled / postponed... 12.01.2022 Message from the CDCUA re Umpires course this weekend: We have been advised by NSWCUSA that due to current advice from NSW Health relating to community sports activities, that they are unable to offer face to face training courses, until after 30th September. Hence, the C.D.C.U.A. Training course scheduled for next weekend has been cancelled and we will schedule a training course for next year. ... The NSWCUSA Education and Training Team can offer the same course via an interactive online platform and if you would like to take up this opportunity, please contact them for further details.

08.01.2022 Hi All, it has come to the attention of the CDCA that some parents are concerned about their children having to attend some of the Academies on offer in the area in order to be selected to play Representative Cricket for the CDCA. This is most definitely NOT the case. Your child will be selected based solely on the cricket ability they display at the trials and/ or their previous seasons statistics. Attending an Academy or not is a personal choice, but will never influence the selection process. Mick Ross CDCA President
