21.01.2022 HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY to our Willow Tree! We have had such a fun week celebrating this milestone with the children and getting into the rainbow spirit! The ra...inbow has become a significant icon throughout this year as a symbol of hope and motivation to get through the toughest of times. We also know it has a powerful meaning of endless possibilities and serves as a reminder of how truly magical our world is. We really counted our blessings this week and took time to appreciate the journey we have been on to get to our big 9! We look forward to finishing off our celebrations tomorrow and are looking forward to seeing all of our friends in the community at our market.

21.01.2022 Preschool Room Cake Stall - On behalf of all of us in the Preschool room we just wanted to say a big big thank you to all our wonderful families and your kind d...onations towards the cake stall! We had such an amazing and fun morning engaging in sensory cooking experiences and making our delicious chocolate fudge! In the afternoon after our rest the children loved taking their money up to the shop, as well as their lolly bag to put their sweets in. This was such a fun time for the children and for us. They have all worked so hard in Masterclass each week, developing their cooking skills on a regular basis. We are so proud!!! Thank you again!! Room 4 staff. :)

18.01.2022 Today ‘Rangers in the Run’ bought the wonders of nature into Willow Tree!! The children were fascinated by these mini beasts, learnt about their ...amazing abilities, how they live & grow and the special roles they play in our environment. We hope this wonderful experience today highlighted for the children the importance of insects have to our ecosystem and will encourage a connection with nature and promote environmental activism. Outcome 2: Children are connected and contribute to their world. Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners. 18.01.2022 The children in the 2-3’s Laughing Ladybugs room have shown a recent interest in Space. The Educators have extended upon this interest through many planned an...d spontaneous activities over the last couple of weeks. The children have made planets, looked at documentaries on launching a spaceship and walking on the moon, participated in craft and sensory play and read many stories about space and the planets. They have had discussions including the colours of the planets, their order and their differences. Many of our parents have commented that their children have been taking the information they have learnt home and are sharing it with their families

18.01.2022 Thank you ‘furry’ much to Alex for holding her 4th RSPCA cupcake day at Rainbow Minto yesterday. Your continued, long term support of this wonderful ‘paws’ is s...o admirable! Alex raised an amazing $219.70 what an effort!!! Special mention to our cook Vicki for helping with some of the delicious cupcakes we had on offer this year. Big Thanks also to our amazing Rainbow community for your generosity in getting behind Alex and the thousands of furry faces, waggy tails and feathered wings who need your help. 09.01.2022 TRANSITION TUESDAY Transitions happen when your child has to stop doing one activity and start doing something else. Getting ready to leave the house ... Putting away toys before bedtime Turning off the television or ipad Getting out of the bath. Your child probably needs to make transitions many times a day. But transitions can be hard, especially if your child is happy with what they are doing and doesn’t want to stop. Planning transitions: A predictable family routine is likely to help with transitions that happen every day Children can accept change better when they know it’s coming. Explain what’s happening to your child before you start the day or leave the house Timing transitions: Transitions are a part of every child’s day Timing them right can make it easier for your child to change from one thing to another Choose your timing. If you can, stop one thing and start another during a natural break in your child’s activity Give your child some warning about any change of activity coming up Making transitions more positive Pointing out the positive side of the transition can direct your child’s attention away from the change and onto something that they like or is happy It’s OK if your child is disappointed about having to stop. That’s natural. You can use their disappointment as an opportunity to talk about emotions, and encourage them to use words to express feelings. Did you find this helpful?

06.01.2022 Sadly, with COVID Cases still popping up, we had to cancel our annual Grandparents Day morning tea, but we used video call and facetime services so we can all s...tay connected with our grandparents on this very special day! Additionally, the children and educators have planted succulents which the children gave to our grandparents to celebrate this occasion. This morning Miss Xiao Jing and Miss Lenae took four children and went to our next door neighbor to say happy grandparents day and gave them a succulent plant as a gift and to ensure that we stay connected with our local community. Moreover, this is an opportunity to educate children about kindness and respect to people that are very important in our lives
