23.01.2022 NOTICE: CMS Annual General Meeting will take place on April 20th, 7:30pm at Mawarra Public School. On the night we will be electing our 2021 committee and after we will be going into a short meeting. Following this, we will be having a Seussical wrap up where we will be sharing our thoughts and accepting feedback on how our first show at CMS went! The order of business for our election process will follow:... 1. Written call for nominations 2. Election of executive office members 3. Change of constitution 4. 22.01.2022 Camden Musical Society has some very exciting news! We are putting together a concert experience on October 10th this year. Whether it is a live concert (COVID permitting), a socially-distanced concert or even a video concert (with socially distanced performers), are decisions that will be made when they can.... Now whilst this may seem almost impossible, the creative team have put together a rehearsal plan that allows for safe, well-spaced rehearsals, with solo items rehearsed individually and much of the rehearsal undertaken at home. We really want to highlight the amazing experience we had on Sunday putting on an inclusive performance for those with sensory issues! A huge thank you to Maya Ascaino who came up with the wonderful idea to do this and Kristie Leopardi who works with Macarthur Disability Services (MDS) for ensuring everything was done in the most appropriate way possible to ensure a great experience.... We hope our audience members enjoyed the experience and we can’t wait to include more sensory sensitive performances in future shows! 02.01.2022 We have three special announcements to share from our group to our fabulous audiences in waiting :) It’s almost 12 months since our local musical society was launched and we have had a very interesting first year. Support from Camden Council with community grants has given us the continued hope that in these trying times we can put on our first full production. Planning is well underway for March 2021 Covid Safe performances and we are pleased to announce we will b...e auditioning for Seussical The Musical in late October. In the meantime, we have been rehearsing for a fundraising performance event - A Night on Broadway. This event will be held at the Mawarra School Hall on Sat 10 October. Tickets will go on sale later this week with limited seats due to our Covid Safety Plan. So be quick. Being a new community musical society and being unable to have full productions and audiences we know the fundraising will be slow. We are taking things back to grass roots community theatre and your support will be needed to keep this dream alive. School Holiday Workshops - These October School Holidays, CMS will be hosting some musical theatre workshops for Years 5,6,7,8 and 9). Details for workshop bookings will be posted soon. CMS hope you can join us to raise our performance spirits and some funds along the way.
