23.01.2022 As the world stops to fight, fight, fight this horrible pandemic of Covid19, Dean and I; being in that age category of the 'older' people, have heeded the warning and have bunkered down to wait it out.....And we're doing that in Camelot Garden.... We are using the time to catch up on a few jobs while the weather is so nice, but a little/lot of rain anytime would be wonderful.......George is wondering why we are 'hanging' around in his garden so much...but lapping up the time... with both of us available for a pat and belly rub.(George's belly that is). I hope you enjoy these few photos.... We wonder if we will hold our garden open this year??? Who knows, one thing we do know, the world as we knew it will never, ever be the same again for us all. ... Please keep well, practice social distancing and wash those hands, and see you on the other side of all this. See more
19.01.2022 So here we are again, all still isolating and staying healthy in our own homes. After the 31 mls of rain on the 3rd and 4th April the garden is looking fresh; I hope your gardens are too..... Easter was very quiet, so we used the time to TRIM a few palms, have a few more dozen games of Croquet , did jigsaws and had intense competitions to find the turtle in the dam..... I hope you enjoy these photos of the garden.
18.01.2022 Just a little bit breathtaking strolling out in Camelot Garden today. With the beautiful rains and the springtime sunshine lately it's been the perfect conditions for everything to be blooming. We've taken lots of photos to show how ready we are for our Annual Open Garden in a few days time ,on Oct 31st and Nov 1st. 10am -4pm. 18 Olive Parade Kadina. $10 entry. Proceeds to the NYP Branch of Cancer Council SA. and the RFDS Copper Coast & District Support Group. We would love all who see this post to invite someone to come along and make this a wonderful fundraiser for these two very worthy charities.
15.01.2022 Camelot Garden Stroll was host to an amazing 600 visitors over the weekend. With a cool start on Saturday, and brilliant sunshine on Sunday we could not have asked for better weather. Dean and I are so emotional with the beautiful things that have been said about our garden; and so emotional with the amount of funds that have been raised for the 2 charities closest to our hearts. An amazing $8,000 has been raised for the Cancer Council SA and will go to the continued ongoing ...costs of running the 2 Cancer Lodges in Adelaide; and the R.F.D.S Trading Table raised a staggering amount of $3,550....Dean and I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone from near and far for coming along to experience our 'garden stroll'. A big thankyou to President Raelene and the NYP Branch members and friends for baking and serving the many dozens of scones and for helping to do the cleaning to keep everything Covid safe. A big thankyou to the volunteer barristers for the weekend who served the many cups of tea and coffee with a minimum of fuss !!. The RFDS members, friends and families for doing a brilliant job of stocking the wonderful Trading Table. And lastly but not least to our wonderful daughter Lauren and family, sisters Jan, Ro, B-in-L Bob, niece Paula for being the best dogs bodies for the weekend and running to every request I asked of them. Thankyou , Thankyou, Thankyou One and all. We are totally exhausted but so so happy..... We hope to see you all in May 2021 for our opening during the Kernewek Lowender week. See more
13.01.2022 What wonderful rainy downpours we have had lately. At Camelot Garden's it could not have come at a better time. All the fertiliser we had out on flower beds and lawns was washed in and is already working to make everything look pretty and different. We are still on track for our Annual Open Garden on Saturday October 31st and Sunday November 1st. 10 am until 4 pm~~~~~~For so many reasons, not the least for our mental health and well being we need to enjoy some normality and... some pleasant non demanding time. For these reasons and for many more why not come and enjoy a pleasant visit to our Garden and let the world just pass you by for an hour or so. Everyone is Welcome ~~~~~~ Admission is $10 which includes a Devonshire Tea, and you will be supporting the Cancer Council SA. The RFDS will also be holding a well stocked Trading Table.....Please pass the word on and we hope to see you all here. .. See more
13.01.2022 So happy to have our Camelot Garden featured on this advert.
11.01.2022 Hi to all our followers. With no travelling holidays for us this year during June and July due to Covid lockdowns we have been busy chasing the warmth of the afternoons in Camelot Gardens.... So after days and days of pruning trees, shrubs, 160 rose bushes; scarifying lawns, fertilising and mulching we are now happy if the rain comes and renews all that is in readiness of Springtime. ...Sadly we are still not able to make a confirmed yes or no as to whether this years Open Garden will be able to be staged, we will advertise late Sept early October if according to strict Government Covid Safe guidelines we can hold it and if Dean and I feel comfortable that it can be held on our grounds........ Meanwhile we hope you enjoy our updated photos of Camelot Gardens.
11.01.2022 Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of showing a dear lady through Camelot Garden. She phoned me and asked could she could go through the garden while she was staying in the area with her hubby who was doing a stint as a locum doctor. It was such a nice time comparing garden talk because both our properties and gardens were featured in last years Spring edition of SA Life gardens and Outdoor living magazine. Our likes with gardens, our love of working for charities, holding our gardens open to the public, being country raised girls, so many comparisions we made in those 3 hours of talking and and drinking cuppa's. Life can surprise you sometimes, but I know I've found a 'soul sister' . Thanks for the visit Cynthia Nicholson.
09.01.2022 What a busy week at Camelot making last minute adjustments to the garden, then we were ready to welcome the group bookings and what lovely visitors they have been. With the rain setting in for today, the garden will once again bounce up in readiness for next weekend.(sorry farmers) Saturday October 31st and Sunday November 1st we will be opening 10 am until 4pm. $10. entry and we will serve you a delicious Devonshire Tea. 18 Olive Parade, Kadina .. The RFDS members will o...nce again have a well stocked Trading Table for you to purchase some great buys. Can't wait to see you all once again and for those of you that are still making up your mind to come, please do I'll go out on a limb here(pardon the pun) and say you will definitely find something to see and you will definitely enjoy yourself. Once again you will be supporting the NYP Branch of Cancer Council SA and the RFDS. See you all soon See more
07.01.2022 Just a little bit excited yesterday when Yorke Peninsula Tourism bought a film crew to Camelot Garden Stroll to film the garden...... with some footage to be included in the next promotional media on what our area has to offer in tourism...... The weather was beautiful for my early morning photos of the garden.
06.01.2022 So life in Camelot Garden has still been rather slow, and except for the dissapointment of going away on holidays to an area of warmer climate, I've got to say it's still enjoyable to be home and just slowing down to do things at a pace that we haven't lived by for years.... We can now certainly get an early start on raking up the autumn leaves, and pruning trees and shrubs before Spring time.... We hope you enjoy our photos of what we've been up to in the last 2 months, including going a little bit mad and dressing up for "bin days".
01.01.2022 We couldn't be any more excited as the Government announcement to give $10 million to help fund the cost of building a new Cancer Council SA centre to include 120 units for country people to stay in while having Cancer treatment comes as we prepare to have our fundraising Open Garden at Camelot Garden Stroll this weekend. For many years the NYP Branch of Cancer Council SA have raised funds for the ongoing costs of running the 2 Cancer Lodges. We are at 18 Olive Parade, K...adina. Open 10 am until 4pm. No bookings necessary. No EFTPOS available. Cost is $10 which includes a delicious Devonshire tea. All Covid safe rules will apply. The RFDS Copper Coast & District Support Group will have a beautiful Trading Table with many home made goodies for you to purchase.... The weather is looking to be delightful so we hope you will all come along, forget your worries and time schedules for an hour or so, stroll or sit in the garden and see it all in it's Spring time glory. ..... xxx Helen and Dean See more
