24.01.2022 For today's 5@5 with Camerata, we are thrilled to present dynamic duo, Alex Raineri and Marian Heckenberg. As introduced in the episode by Marian, Camerata's Principal Double Bassist, they'll be performing Lament by American violinist, composer and academic Ellen Zwilich. Among many other accolades, Zwilich was the first female composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music. Classical pianist Alex Raineri, was recently described by Limelight Magazine as a soloist of superb s...kill and musicality, and is also the Artistic Director of Brisbane Music Festival. For those fortunate enough to snag a ticket, Alex performed a sold-out recital earlier this year with Brendan Joyce at Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art presented by Camerata. We hope you enjoy this moving edition of 5@5 with Camerata, featuring Marian Heckenberg and Alex Raineri. #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata

23.01.2022 We had a great time at QPAC for Viva Espana with our good friend, Andrew Veivers and we're glad that Limelight did too!

23.01.2022 Joining us in this latest episode of 5@5 with Camerata is violist, Gregory Daniel. Today, Gregory performs Lillian Fuch's Characteristic Study #12. Lillian Fuch was an American composer, teacher and violist and is considered to be among the finest instrumentalists of her time. You may recognise Gregory from previous episodes of 5@5 with Camerata, however, among many other projects, he joined Camerata last year to perform Queensland Ballet and Queensland Music Festival's co-production of The Little Green Road to Fairyland throughout regional Queensland and QPAC. The music of which was composed by Elena Kats-Chernin and later recorded by ABC Classic featuring Katie Noonan. We hope you #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata and enjoy Greg's talents in today's episode.

23.01.2022 Thank you to every one who joined us at QPAC last night for Musica Viva Australia's Queen of the Nile. We were honoured to share the stage with Sofia Troncoso who made her Australian stage debut - what a wonderful talent and colleague!

21.01.2022 Today we're bringing you a little bit of romance in today's 5@5 with Camerata to usher in the weekend. Joining us to perform Felix Mendelssohn's Die Nachtigall is Artistic Associate and Violinist, Helena Wang. This piece is part of Mendelssohn’s set of six lieder pieces for mixed voices, written somewhere between 1837 and 1843. Poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe set the text of the piece which Helena beautifully recites in her introduction and is noted below. The nightingale wa...s far away, Spring has lured her back. She has learned nothing new: She is singing her old beloved songs. Mendelssohn’s setting of Goethe’s poem The Nightingale is so short and so sublime that you may find yourself listening to it over and over. #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata

20.01.2022 Psst! There's only very few tickets left for Orava Quartet in Sunrise at The Edge, SLQ this October, presented by Camerata. Who will be the lucky person to snag the very last seats? We look forward to seeing you all in Brisbane and Toowoomba for this presentation of our Artists-in-Residence, Orava Quartet.

20.01.2022 We have a sweet 5@5 for you today, where we are joined by the latest addition to the Camerata family, Artistic Associate, Helena Wang. Helena performs for us her own arrangement of Traditional Chinese Folk song, Jasmine Flower. It's a timely episode, with the turn of Spring and the lovely scent of fresh jasmine lingering in the streets of Brisbane recently. Helena graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2018 from the University of Queensland and has continued on her studies, un...dergoing her Masters of Philosophy under Natsuko Yoshimoto. We hope you take a moment to enjoy this episode and #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata

20.01.2022 Rehearsals are underway for our upcoming performances in QPAC Unlocked: Viva Espana with Andrew Veivers. We are so happy to be reunited with Andrew following last year’s Flamenco Fire. 19.01.2022 Did any of you early birders catch us on the TODAY show this morning? We had a great time performing a couple of little snippets ahead of this weekend's Street Serenades for Brisbane Festival. Brendan also threw in his famous cockroach impression, being a Queenslander and all. For those who slept in, check out part one of our live cross from BRISBANE POWERHOUSE where we performed Apis Australis, composed for Camerata by John Rotar.

18.01.2022 We are so delighted to welcome two of Camerata's regulars to today's episode of 5@5 - Monika Koerner and Ysolt Clark. Monika and Ysolt have joined Camerata as Principal Artists across many performances over the years such as our seasons with Queensland Ballet and commercial projects such as National Geographic's Symphony For Our World - to name just a few. Today they've cleverly arranged four of Béla Bartók's 44 Duos for Two Violins, for Flute and French Horn. They'll be performing Párnás Tánc (Pillow Dance), Mese (Fairy Tale), Számláló Nóta (Counting Song) and Szerb Tánc (Serbian Dance). Join us today at 5pm as we #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata.

16.01.2022 It's Friday and that means another new episode of 5@5 with Camerata - and boy, do we have a dramatic one for you! Artistic Associate, Marian Heckenberg, has arranged today's piece, Erlkönig, for double bass and is accompanied by renowned pianist, Alex Raineri. Erlkönig originally is a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe which depicts the death of a child assailed by a supernatural being, the Erlking, a kind of demon or king of the fairies. It was originally written by Goethe... in 1782. The poem has often been set to music, with Franz Schubert's rendition, his Opus 1 (D. 328), being the best known, and the one which Marian has arranged for her performance today. We look forward to you tuning in for this epic story told through music today at 5pm. #TuneInTuneOutWithCamerata
