14.01.2022 I'm mindful that at this time, many people are out of work. And while lock downs are certainly cause for anxiety, i suspect it's the uncertainty surrounding livelihoods that causes the greatest distress and which will have the most serious long term negative impacts. Doubly distressing then, that the one single authority with the absolute power to alleviate that anguish - the federal government of a monetarily soverign nation - is so badly fucking it up. I have the opposite problem. I've been very busy. No time for sculpture. Here's something barely begun that's now crumbling into ruin. 09.01.2022 At the very beginning of this year, the QNMU invited me to submit a proposal to design and create an award sculpture, like a trophy, to be given to recipients of their inaugural Professional Practice Awards which will be held in just a few short weeks. It's been a long and involved, but very rewarding process and I'll share more of that later, but for now let me thank Kate Veach and her team at the QNMU, Kym Sainsbury @bentbrush from Barnes in Brisbane for her technical assistance and the many Nurses and Midwives who spent time chatting with me about their work.
