24.01.2022 Thoughts on the Wollongong Christmas Tree? To me, it looks like a Nuclear Power Plant cooling tower
23.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to fastest Dad in Australia! From the track to need something fixed, you’re always there to help in no time at all! Happy Father’s Day!
23.01.2022 Pressing Play on Christmas with Destination Wollongong’s annual Christmas party last night! Congratulations to Mark Sleigh and the team at Destination Wollongong for hosting another great event yesterday You have plenty to smile about in the tourism sector heading into 2021, considering Wollongong is only booming now when it comes to events and accommodation occupancy rates! ... Here’s to a massive 2021 and hopefully a beach bar
22.01.2022 Council meeting wrap from Monday night
21.01.2022 Great to catch up with Isaac Wilson today, owner of Wilson's Bike Hub Warrawong & Dapto to talk with the media regarding legalising Electric Scooters & Skateboards We all know that these devices are being widely used in the public domain and are a very affordable form of transport! It’s time the NSW Government got with the times and legalised these forms of transport to make it more accessible and safer to ride for all, just like electric bikes! ... For more information watch WIN News Illawarra tonight or watch out for the article in the Illawarra Mercury tomorrow!
19.01.2022 I’m so glad to see my idea of a Beach Bar/Eatery is in full swing Well done to staff on getting this out for EOI before summer! Here’s to hopefully having a bite and drinkthis summer on the sand
18.01.2022 SUPPORTING WOLLONGONG BUSINESS & RESIDENTS....BAH HUMBUG SAYS LORD MAYOR GORDON BRADBERY Last night, my motion on parking was supported by half of Wollongong councillors, I want to thank those councillors that stood up for business and the majority of the public However, the most out of touch Lord Mayor in history voted against the motion in the tied vote, meaning the motion was defeated ... The Mayor and councillors that voted against it could only come up with the worst excuses in history: Council is better off with the money and spending it on mall activation We’re only asking people to spend a few dollars, that shouldn’t turn them off our city It will be too hard to implement Our city has plenty of shoppers in it already The Lord Mayor is truly the grinch of Christmas in Wollongong this year! Rumour has it, that the mall activation will be a lump of coal on a pole this year open by the Lord Mayor himself!
18.01.2022 For all those that have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice for this great country we live in today We will remember them Lest we forget
16.01.2022 Be careful out there this afternoon
13.01.2022 I’m happy to see the NSW Liberal Government commitment $79 million towards the planning of the duplication for Picton Road and Heathcote Road This is a massive step towards improving our vital transport links to Wollongong and making them safer for everyday commuters in the gong! This could only be achieved by a Government that knows how to balance a budget
13.01.2022 Remondis Harbour Cities you deliver a fantastic service to our city when it comes to waste collection, but I think you’ve done your job too well today
13.01.2022 Happy 50th Birthday Gladys Berejiklian Hope our amazing Premier has a great day and gets some time to celebrate All politics aside, she has done a fantastic job as the NSW Premier leading us through some devastating times in the last year. ... But your strong efforts go to show that age is just a number and women in leadership can do anything
10.01.2022 Nala and I decided to go to our favourite place for walkies today For all our dog beaches and parks, including the recently added West Dapto dog park! Head to https://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/exp/dog-beaches-and-parks
10.01.2022 Remember Use a face mask in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, such as on public transport or in supermarkets Use a face masks (where practical) in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for the staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues, i.e. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs... The use of a face mask is not compulsory in NSW, but by wearing one, we can reduce the risk of community transmission
07.01.2022 This Monday coming, I shall ask Councillors to join me in approving the shut down of all parking meters from December 21 to January 17 making Parking FREE in the Wollongong CBD Allowing residents and visitors the chance to support local retail and hospitality that has been severely impacted by COVID-19 I’m also calling on Wollongong Central to join us in offering a free parking period in its car parks as well
05.01.2022 Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas today with family and friends Be it around the Christmas Tree or by virtual means Merry Christmas once more to everyone and here’s to the Boxing Day Test tomorrow

01.01.2022 I will move heaven and earth to get the Wollongong Beach Club up and running for this summer I’d like to thank Mark Sleigh for his enthusiasm and support for this initiative right from the get-go! After a fair few phone calls over the last 24 hours, I suspect Council now understand the importance of getting this up and running ... https://www.illawarramercury.com.au//lost-opportunities-/
