13.01.2022 Over the Christmas Period there is lots going on! It has been a crazy time, and we have now had our doors open for nine months, and what a busy nine months it has been! To keep everyone updated Dr Lachie will be unavailable for routine work for the following dates over the holiday period: Boxing Day - half day, Closed from 12 noon onwards Christmas Day - Closed Monday 28th of December til Friday 1st January - Closed ... There will also be a week in January where Dr Lachie will be unavailable as he will be attending further Equine Dentistry training. More details on this to come. Routine breeding work will continue over the Christmas period. However, it is well time Dr Lachie had a little week off to recovery from the hectic year it has been! Running a solo show takes its toll, and some R&R is in order. 05.01.2022 Great day yesterday on the York Peninsular. Both Dr Lachie and Dr Whiskey had a fabulous day getting over there and looking at a few horses! We are very keen to set up a regular trip over there to help offer our services. No scary dental photos today just a few whilst driving ! We covered some distance though, and got the opportunity to meet a few wonderful clients and castrate a few horses, scan a mare, look at some teeth , and check out a few eyes. Offer plenty of fresh water , salt licks are a good idea to encourage water intake and replace lost electrolytes. Ensure access to shade, and as required provide airflow and misters for stabled horses. Hot weather can predispose horses to colic due to decreased water intake and risks for impaction colic.
