24.01.2022 Gone from being exceptionally good at something and the top of your game to feeling like you are pushing shit up hill at back at the bottom of the food chain again? Well it happens! You can't be the best at everything all the time otherwise you will take opportunities for granted and be never really learn what things mean to you.... Here in this picture I was 16/17 yrs old and coming into full flight of my soccer career. It was around this point I went from being above average to a great player where I could walk onto just about any team I wanted and be a standout! Then, about 4 years later, as I made the commitment to myself to purse the challenge of becoming a professional footballer, I had a debilitating knee injury and all self confidence went out the window. Pretty common with this injury. This is when I was becoming a PT and started to look at other avenues in which I could take my sporting endeavours and thats when I found bodybuilding (not by choice, but it turned out to be a happy coincidence). And my first 4 shows, I sucked. I sucked alot! "If you're not first, your last" was my mentality as winning just came naturally to me. So it was very hard for me to understand or handle the idea of coming 4th and 5th in things. Id blame everyone else, and not understanding what what really going on. Talk about ego trippin! These guys, had been training for longer than I had, and were further along with muscular development, maturity and overall shaping. Thats like asking why I wasn't as smart as someone who has compelted a phd when im still in year 6...no its just they are further along in their journey. Be patient it'll come. You just have to keep moving along and you will come back to your normal grove when you have finished your "apprenticeship" in the new field of play.

13.01.2022 "I'll tell you this, in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face." - Al pacino (Any Given Sunday) I used to list to this before major events or the times I felt alone and challenged like i had the whole world to fight against.... I find it puts me in a place where it creates this fire in my belly to work and do great things, take on challenging tasks, or simply hustle for my life. This speech helped get me out of some sticky situations. Has a speech or quote got you out of one aswell?

12.01.2022 The relationship with your coach Something that can make for a great outcome in your results is your ability to communicate with your coach/mentor. It is important to remember that it is a 2 way street in communication!... As much as the term "trust the process" comes into play, you are also allowed to gain understanding about why things happen by asking questions. And visa versa, if you don’t identify issues then they think nothing is wrong. When establishing a plan/strategy with a client, I listen to their concerns, challenges and obstacles then over time I recognise different challenges they have and make adjustments accordingly to make the process attainable to the best of their ability. This is why its called coaching, not a dictatorship. "This is what I would like to happen, is that achievable for you and can you make room for that?" The more open the discussion the more effective the coaching. But sometimes the whip must come out and you have to suck it up. Note: At the same time I say that, if you flat out refuse to listen to your coaches recommendations, thats on you, they have a plan and if you are not being coachable life will become difficult for both parties.

06.01.2022 For dramatic results, you must make dramatic changes. But everything will come at a cost. -Netflix -Late nights -Early mornings... -Lack of spare time -Relationships -Friday/Saturday nights -Pressure -Not being understood. -Money What price are you willing to give for the outcomes you desire?

05.01.2022 Key focuses at different stages of a competition prep Ill just straight to it, people often underestimate how much weight they might need to lose when doing their first bodybuilding show. Especially for the gentlemen out there we are always trying to build more muscle and this is where we might become stuck. Let me explain: you arent as big as what you might like to think. So when you get to the part where you decide to strip off the fluff and get ready for the contest which ...can be anywhere from 12- 30 weeks, what you have got at that point is what you've got. It's your job now to hold onto that for dear life and not let too much of it go to wastage from lack of nutrition or going too aggressively with your fatloss. Yes that's right you will lose a little bit of muscle. That is your sole focus to get shredded at this point, not to get bigger. On the flip side growing into a show is a frequently discussed topic and a hard thing to do especially if you are not using PED's . You might be able to squeeze a little bit out if you have stretched your prep out and have small weekly targets to hit in order to lose weight (200-300g lose per week or less) but other wise this part is segmented during the "off-season" part. Where you might misunderstand the instagram picture is that these guys might look massive but as I have come to learn is that I personally am quite disappointed when I meet them in person that they are smaller than how they appear on the gram. Shredded, but smaller. Especially when you have never done it before and know how it plays out, dont let the ego get in the way of holding you back from going from looking beach lean to stage shredded. I still get disappointed by the end when my cloths start to swim on me and I look like a cancer patient with aids berfore i start to eat more substantial amounts of food.

02.01.2022 The opportunity of a lifetime comes around everyday, and you get make the decision whether to stick to your lane and see your current situation through OR change lanes, potentially get distracted from plan A and head in another direction. Now there are a few circumstances that it can be a good idea to take up said opportunity: 1. Its already part of the plan. 2. You are no longer wanting to continue down your current path.... Other than that it is merely a distraction form your current path. Stay your course! This moment is a character testing moment. Don't get distracted by the bright shining object that drifts infront of you. 95% of the time, the grass isn't greener on the other side as much as it might appear to be.
