19.01.2022 Merry ChristMESS! Brick Studios is partnering with indie filmmaker Heath Davis to bring the production of his fourth film to Campbelltown and is looking for local participation. ChristMESS will star Steven Le Marquand and Susan Prior ... with technical talent including cinematographer Blandy, and editor Romain. Being a Christmas story, Brick Studios needs to get this film up by July to ensure a Chrissy release, so they’re looking for local businesses to sponsor the production - whether it be a small cash contribution or in-kind sponsorship through the use of locations or infrastructure support etc. In return they will use the momentum of the film to give value back to the business. Heath makes award winning indie films, with relatable salt of the earth characters with heart and humour, and this film has that in spades. It’s about a washed up actor takes a job as a suburban shopping centre Santa where he encounters his estranged daughter and grandson in line for a photo. Through the love and support of his salt of the earth sponsor, Carol, and a young, sharp tongued, gay musician in recovery named Joy, Chris sets about staying sober in order to win his daughter’s forgiveness for Christmas. If you feel like this is a project that aligns with the values of your business and you’d like to chat more, contact [email protected] or 0402 031 748.

The funding will be used to purchase a blood centrifuge machine, as well as a freezer, which will allow doctors at the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre to monitor the blood of cancer patients receiving hormone treatment and to better manage their side effects. Sue McGarrity, Deputy Chairperson of 24Hour Fight Against Cancer comments ‘’We are extremely grateful to the Board of Directors of Wests Group Macarthur, for a very generous donation of $10,000. This equipment would not be available without the support of Wests. Warren Morrison, Chairman of 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer shares Cancer is not in lockdown, and sadly many families in Macarthur are affected with, or will be affected, by Cancer in the future, and therefore the important fundraising work must continue. We may not be able to get together in the way we used to, but we can still get together as a community and make a huge difference. Covid-19 has presented many challenges for all business and has had a huge impact on not for profit and registered charities within the region. The 24Hour Fight Against Cancer team has had to cancel all committee-run events including the planned launch, Ladies Day, Golf Days as well as the 2020 annual fundraising walk scheduled for October. The 24Hour team and their many supporters have taken the opportunity to be creative in their approach to 2020 and are committed to raising as much as possible this year and keeping momentum in these difficult circumstances. Fundraising activities include the Giant Raffle 2020 with $9,500 in prizes to be won as well as a range of individual and sponsored 24-Hour events across the region via various retailers and venues in support of Make Macarthur Blue Day on October 10th. All details are available via the 24Hour Fight Against Cancer social media page - 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur This October 10, Wests Group MacArthur venues will join Make Macarthur Blue day, turning our venues blue for 24 hours with food and beverage specials and blue displays across all Wests Venues.

07.01.2022 Pick up a deal during Christmas On Q Residents are being encouraged to shop locally this Christmas with a series of On Q Christmas specials to support businesses on Queen Street. As part of the On Q activation project, retailers, cafes and restaurants have partnered with Council to offer the booklet which contains vouchers for a range of deals from more than 40 businesses valid throughout December.... On Q is a year-long program to test and trial new ideas within the Queen Street precinct to help inform long term plans to improve the area’s aesthetic, accessibility and liveability while also helping local business to thrive. Small businesses have been at the forefront of dealing with the impacts of COVID-19’s impact on the economy so this is a great way of supporting people in our CBD in the lead up to Christmas, Mayor George Brticevic said. Our local economy is powered by small businesses who offer a great range of services and products to our community, Cr Brticevic said. This is just one part of a larger program which will bring some exciting new ideas to the Queen Street precinct over the coming months, he said. The revitalisation of the Queen Street precinct is a priority project in Council’s Reimagining Campbelltown City Centre Master Plan over the next five years. The project is funded by the NSW Government through the Streets as Shared Spaces grants. The On Q specials booklet is available at the Campbelltown Civic Centre, the On Q Christmas Markets or any participating business. Residents can keep up to date with what’s happening during On Q at https://overtoyou.campbelltown.nsw.gov.au/on-q.
