25.01.2022 http:// ROLL THE DICE // - with Sophie, Jack and Sasha (Chief P.T) ... Another fun one to do with the kids at home

23.01.2022 I spent some time recently with Tania Rowan from Ultimate Functional Fitness, planning out some fine and gross motor activities for children to do at home. This was *pre-covid19* ... we had no way of knowing just how much we would need these activities.... So now I have some time at home, I am trying to fast track some ideas...... Tan uploaded this one to her own followers - HOPSCOTCH with Sophie (make sure you watch out for gorgeous Sasha looking on through the window!). I am going to see if Tan can tweak this a little for my really little kiddos...but for now, try this out...and have fun!

21.01.2022 How is this for a gorgeous face? We came across a mother and her baby at The Rainforest Discovery Centre in Sepilok, Sabah. This particular area of rainforest is primary/virgin jungle (never been logged) and the animals roam free. There is a large canopy walk where you can watch the wildlife. Unfortunately prime and secondary (previously logged) rainforest in Sabah is being destroyed at an astonishing rate - we must say #NO# to palm oil and know there is no such thing as s...ustainable palm oil. I was surprised to see palm oil in almost every supermarket product - companies such as Nestle put cheap palm oil in all the usual brands for certain (Asian) markets (think Milo). We were lucky to see several wild Orangutans along the Kinabatangan River, including one large male who we watched from the stairs of our jungle resort. He was very close to us and watching our group cautiously. He bellowed loudly into the jungle to let us know he was boss! We also saw the Rhinoceros Hornbill from afar but no Clouded Leopards or Pygmy Elephants. We saw the endangered Sun Bears at a Conservation Sanctuary.

I have access to other teaching (group-based) software and I will be adding my online work in due course. 17.01.2022 WAIMH conference this year in Australia. Some of the most valuable teachings I have ever had have come from WAIMH. Paris 2006 - We heard Professor Giacomo Rizzolatti publicly deliver his Mirror Neuron research (seminal work impacting how we think of ASD)... Prague 2016 - I met Marie-Christine Laznik, a French psychoanalyst who developed the Pre-AUT model which I use to identify infants at risk.

12.01.2022 Powerful message!

12.01.2022 RE: COVID19. We are taking extra precautions to keep our services available to those who need them. We are awaiting information from the Australian Psychological Society regarding essential services with children. UPDATE 23/3/20... 1/ We have transitioned most people to Zoom Telehealth. Zoom is free to download and easy to use. 2/ For assessments and neurofeedback we have limited opening hours to minimise traffic and to give time for cleaning. If you enter the clinic, please wash your hands thoroughly (soap and paper towels at the back near toilet). You will go straight to the consulting room and NOT the waiting room. 3/ You will see us in some basic personal protection equipment (PPE). We will open and close entry doors. 4/ We are offering a home delivery neurofeedback service to maintain brain training sessions. 5/ We are setting up online individual and group e-learning - some of this will be teaching workshops delivered on line instead of in person. IMPORTANT:- If you have any of these symptoms - runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, difficulty breathing - please ring your GP clinic. Remember to exercise caution throughout the current period and follow the government recommendations such as regular hand washing. We need to support our community and be mindful of the elderly and disabled. If anyone requires assistance with basic needs, food supplies etc. please contact Mel to see if she can help. Take care everyone. Kind Regards, Jan and Mel

08.01.2022 I know lots of Victorians are feeling stressed and isolated. Lots of us are missing friends and family. And lots of people with existing mental health issues ar...e finding things really tough. Weve seen greater demand than ever for our mental health services these past few weeks and months. And given were extending the State of Emergency for another four weeks, we have to make sure everyone has the support they need. Thats why were doing this. Were starting the roll out of 170 additional youth and adult acute mental health beds. Providing online therapy for kids and their parents. More support for significant trauma and an expansion of our suicide prevention program. Mobiles and extra phone data to help at-risk and vulnerable Victorians stay in touch with their mental health and crisis services. Extra training and resources for frontline mental health workers. And a dedicated phone line that people can call if theyre feeling lonely and really need a chat. Were dealing with a public health emergency but we cannot allow it to become a mental health crisis. Self-isolation must not turn into social isolation for thousands of people across the state. This is about making sure Victorians get the support they need when they need it.

07.01.2022 This would normally be the time of year that we take a break and share good wishes for a happy new year. The start of this new decade has been anything but normal.
