23.01.2022 Did you see anything? If you did please contact the police. **** Theft Of Roadwork Signs **** Overnight, thieves have removed 35 road signs from the length of the Princes Highway currently under construction to the east of Talindert Road, Camperdown. The signs were set out by roadworking contractors in order for the length of road to comply with legislation and to provide a safe working environment for the road workers.... The stolen signs are described as 1200mm x 900mm steel frames with corflute message board inserts. It appears that the thieves would have required a trailer, utility or truck to remove all of the signs. Anyone with information is urged to contact Acting Sergeant Don CAMILLERI at Camperdown Police on (03) 5593 1000. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

23.01.2022 Remember, it can take as little as 15cm to float a car. Thats the size of an average pen. Our message is simple: Never drive through floodwater.

23.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times wed taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies. From this week, you might see us back out training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond. Emergency services are permitted to undertake this training, as endorsed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer.... Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community. Thank you

Emergency services are currently at...tending to a huge number of incidents and accidents, with power lines and trees across roads and widespread power outages. If the curfew isnt incentive enough to stay home, please consider your own safety as well as the safety of emergency services workers who are currently dealing with the damage caused by this evenings severe weather. Please share with anyone you know who might be considering driving this evening. If you require assistance please contact the Victoria State Emergency Service on 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies call Triple Zero (000).

15.01.2022 If you were out walking down the main street this afternoon and saw us driving around with our lights and sirens on and wondered what we were up to we received a callout for a car accident with possible person trapped between Camperdown and Weerite. While on the way to the accident the Triple 0 call taker was able to get more info and it turned out the accident was actually on the Camperdown-Darlington Rd in Darlington, so we started heading that way with support from SES M...ortlake Unit. Once police arrived on scene they found nil persons trapped and cancelled our response. Our callouts this month so far are 1 Car accident in Boorcan 1 Tree down Princes Highway Boorcan 1 Car accident in Camperdown/Darlington area.

10.01.2022 Everyone who comes to work, whether it be firey, ambo, police, we want to go home at the end of the day, and we dont want something which would be a minor acc...ident at 40km/h to be a catastrophe at 80km/h, 90km/h or 100km/h. For emergency services workers, the roadside is part of the office. Thats why were asking everyone to think about their safety and slow to 40km/h when passing emergency services vehicles.

07.01.2022 Busy day for the unit today with two calls for assistance first was to back SES Cobden Unit up at a rescue where a persons foot was stuck under a heavy object the person was able to be freeed without our help and the second was to tarp a house roof after a fire earlier in the day. Its also disappointing to hear while Camperdown Fire Brigade and other local brigades were attending to the fire that most cars driving past decided to drive thru the road closure signs that had been put up and also tried to pass thru the fire scene. The signs were put up not just for the firefighters safety but yours as well..
