20.01.2022 Camp Kulin was incredibly honoured last night to be selected as a recipient of a $100,000 grant from Impact100 WA for our new Counsellor In Training (CIT) Program. Huge thanks to all the Impact 100 donors who voted for us - this grant will make such a huge difference, and we really appreciate your support. Special congratulations to our camper Billy who helped Tanya make the pitch - you did an incredible job! We’d also like to thank all the USA Summer Camps who let Tanya visit their CIT programs over summer, and Westpac Scholars for funding that research. Finally, congratulations to all the other finalists on the amazing work you are doing, and we are looking forward to collaborating with some of you! #Impact100

06.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our new kitchen!

05.01.2022 To all our valued Camp Kulin sponsors, supporters, volunteers parents, guardians, case workers and stakeholders Kulin Shire Council and staff have worked through on-going challenges regarding the operation of Camp Kulin over the Summer of 2019/2020. During the Summer School Holidays we operated a scaled back version of 2 camps, as opposed to the originally proposed 7 camps. These camps were successfully delivered via existing Camp Kulin staff as well as a range of casual staf...f and volunteers. Camp Kulin staff have also continued to deliver School Leadership Camps for a range of schools within the region during Fourth Term of 2019 as well as First Term of 2020. As many people are aware Camp Kulin Manager, Tanya Dupagne, remains on extended personal leave for an indefinite period of time as she undergoes intensive medical treatment. The Shire of Kulin continues to wish Tanya all the best with her treatment and ongoing recovery. The permanent Camp Kulin staff are a small team who are supplemented with casual and volunteer staff during peak camp seasons. At this point in time the Camp Kulin team do not have sufficient resources to adequately deliver the Camp Kulin Program. Council and Shire staff have continued to work through various challenges regarding resourcing and the ongoing sustainability of Camp Kulin, but we’ve come to the decision that Camp Kulin will have to go into recess as of Friday 13th March 2020. This decision was not taken lightly and involved consultation with a range of stakeholders. Whilst Camp Kulin is in recess, staff and Council will endeavour to work through the various challenges to determine a suitable resourcing and sustainable operational delivery model for the future. Kulin Shire Council trusts that this provides a comprehensive update of the operational status of Camp Kulin, until further information comes to light and an appropriate decision is made. We thank everyone in advance for their patience as the Kulin Shire Council, Shire staff and Camp Kulin staff work through this challenging situation. Should anyone have any other specific enquiries regarding Camp Kulin and Kulin Shire Council please contact Garrick Yandle Shire of Kulin CEO [email protected].

04.01.2022 Last week, Tanya had the amazing opportunity to meet with the incredible Waleed Aly in Melbourne. Thanks so much to Waleed for taking the time out and to Westpac Scholars for arranging it and covering travel expenses!

03.01.2022 Thank you so much to The Harvest Place for your generous donation to Camp Kulin to help us send regional young people to camp this summer!
