23.01.2022 As an organisation proud to call the Australian outdoors our workplace, we are devastated by the destruction caused by the unprecedented bushfires throughout our beautiful country. We are heartened by the heroic and tireless efforts of emergency services’ workers, countless volunteers and community members. Our deepest and most sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones, properties and livestock. We are immeasurably proud of our teams, here in the Southern Highland...s, who continue to respond with generosity to offer support and resources. We are currently preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to the fire crews operating out of Tallong RFS Station. We will continue to assist with First Aid support at Mittagong RSL, where we can. We’ve offered the local fire brigade, RFS and SES as well as the Wingecarribbee Council the use of Camp Wombaroo as a centre for volunteers working on the fire fields as a place to sleep, shower and recover. We also have staff members fighting with the Tallong RFS and assisting the Tallong RFS Support team. With tough conditions expected today, we continue to proudly stand with a resilient and united community. See more

19.01.2022 The end of school holidays has rounded out another successful season of Day Camps at Camp Wombaroo. We were so happy to see our visitors building shelters, canoeing in the rain, and warming up with arts-and-crafts by the fire. Seeing the tired, smiling faces at the end of each day makes our hard work worthwhile. Thank you to all who participated and re-energised our centre. We were so pleased to share the wonders of outdoor education with you. We'll see you all next time!

16.01.2022 We love our wildlife at Camp Wombaroo and with this extreme heat and lack of water some of our furry friends have needed some help. Our awesome Group Leader Eliza contacted WIRES about this greater glider and after a couple of days of rest and recouperation it was back in it's tree. Isn't it cool!

15.01.2022 The students from Goulburn Public School - Official Site have filled Camp Womabroo with excited laughter. And for us, there's nothing better! They sure were pleased to be out on the water where they worked together through our canoe games which challenged not only their canoeing skills but also their problem-solving and communication skills. Thanks for joining us in exploring the endless wonders of the outdoors.

09.01.2022 Today was a great day at Wombaroo! We were lucky enough to scout around alongside the Land for Wildlife crew from Wingecarribee Shire Council, as they assess the biodiversity of our land. We only covered a small area but saw an abundance of native flora and fauna. Even catching a glimpse of a channel-billed cuckoo!! ... Watch this space...we have some exciting times ahead!

08.01.2022 This year we have been working with the Moss Vale Lions Club to develop some great programs for local children. We are really proud of this relationship and this weekend will be doing some fundraising on behalf of the Moss Vale Lions. So come down this Saturday to Bunnings Mittagong for a sausage in a roll, drink and a chat and help support our local community.

04.01.2022 Due to the incredible work of volunteer firefighters in the Southern Highlands, thankfully our camp locations are not currently affected by the fires. We're delighted to announce that both Camp Wombaroo and Bush Camp Biloela have officially re-opened! With more than 90% of The Outdoor Education Group team employed in regional and rural Australia, we view our responsibility as an employer and community member seriously. This responsibility means we will continue to buy local, employ local and assist damaged regional economies, like the Southern Highlands, repair and rebound. We look forward to welcoming students and community groups to camp and continuing to share the wonders of outdoor education with them.
