25.01.2022 Another funny little job for this week. A king sized bed saved from ending up at the rubbish tip. And now strong enough to withstand even American visitors. And will survive even the heat death of the universe. I dont plan on fixing this one again.

25.01.2022 How to Put in a soakwell really quickly. Hope it gives you a laugh.

24.01.2022 One of the more interesting jobs I have done this year, We moved this shed a meter to the left to save the gum tree. All in one piece. The owner was thrilled that it was possible. So if you have a weird or even possibly impossible job that needs doing, give me a ring. Ill try to surprise and delight you

22.01.2022 I am at long last being dragged, kicking and screaming into the 20th century. The future is Nigh..

22.01.2022 It really is the little things, a towel rail that doesn't fall down when you hang a towel on it can be the line between a good day and one that just cascades downhill from there. Weeeee

21.01.2022 In my job, it is the little things that make it special. I was working for a client on Friday. While working in the laundry I noticed that the washing machine was 6 inches out from the wall. I asked, is it like that for a reason? she told me that it "bounced around a bit when spinning" turned out, out, the floor had considerable slope and there was 25mm of difference between the front left and the right rear. Whoever had delivered it had decided not to level it. Now it is perfectly level and should stay in one place. I love fixing the little things that make peoples lives easier.

19.01.2022 One of last years projects, A ramp and a deck all made from Upcycled timber. Only the fasteners came from the hardware store.

18.01.2022 I love helping people get more organised. This carport was transformed from a jumble of boxes and no room on the workbench to everything visable and easy to find

17.01.2022 One of the most interesting and challenging jobs that I did recently was install this "triple Mortice lock for a door which needed to be much more secure, while still looking ordinary. Nobody going to be kicking that down with the bolts at the top, bottom and middle of the door.

17.01.2022 My first Guest Blog Thanks Carolyn for the Invite

15.01.2022 Just a reminder to always use a licensed electrician and do not try to save money on your electrical or plumbing renovations.

13.01.2022 These are called spiral balances. Some sash windows use them to hold the weight of the window. Today I fixed 5 windows in a house where the windows had been propped up with sticks for 25 years. Hard to tell who it made happier, me or the home owner.

11.01.2022 One of the fun things about my job is seeing how things are done in lots of different houses. I really like this sink and its minimalist lines. Not sure how practical other would be in a house with children though. What do you think?

10.01.2022 If you have ducted air conditioning in your house, I try to always ask when was the last time you cleaned this filter. If you cant remember, it probably needs cleaning. Drop the door, slide it out of the frame vacuum the bulk dust and then hose it off and leave outside to dry. If you are in an older house with high ceilings or dont have a good ladder, ask me to clean it when I am around fixing other things.

10.01.2022 A before and after of a gutter with a very large overhanging gum tree. It had been causing the owner constant problems with flooding. Gutter guard to the rescue.
