19.01.2022 Earlier this month, we planted a number of trees around Russell Park and The Parade, Russell Lea as part of the NSW Government's Five Million Trees for Greater Sydney program Within a week of the trees being planted, two of five on one strip had been completely removed. When one of our Council staff drove by they noticed something was wrong and went to inspect the tree. It had been replaced by a single branch. We've since replanted the trees.... Each tree is especially chosen for their particular location because of their species (they are indigenous to the area), their quality, and their form. These trees were planted following our street tree planting consultation earlier this year. If you notice any suspicious behaviour or tree vandalism, please call Council on 9911 6555.
