25.01.2022 When wall joints no longer hold, sand can leach from behind the wall causing subsidence

25.01.2022 Congratulations to the Canal Wall Doctor Team who were named finalists in the Optus Small Business Awards 2017

24.01.2022 This client reported subsidence behind their wall. Canal Wall Doctor first treated the cause by sealing construction joints and correcting weepholes, so that further material loss does not occur. The team then pulled back the artificial grass and pumped in a sand slurry to fill the void.

24.01.2022 Hope Island also needed a little tidy up recently . Great Scooping Chris! Keeping the waterways free of debris so owners can operate their vessels without prop damages. Great Work team!

The event is held annually at the Pacific Harbour Golf Club, Bribie Island on the 11th of August. If you can't be there - they do have an online funding site available.

23.01.2022 Today the Canal Wall Doctor team visited a client with suspected subsidence under the concrete slab behind the revetment wall. We highly recommend that if your property has such a concrete slab, inspection points be installed so subsidence can be monitored and rectified before it is too late.

22.01.2022 Hooray! After 3 months away, the team is up and running again in Bribie. New vessel and new crew training up and getting the walls of Banksia Beach healthy and happy for the property owners.

19.01.2022 Canal Wall Doctor Bribie getting a hug from a little fella they rescued from the canal this morning . A little Blue Tongue appreciation before he wandered away.

19.01.2022 Our 2 teams and their 'Weephole Warriors' working hard in the Banksia Beach area last week.

18.01.2022 The team in Bribie had a bit of an unusual day

18.01.2022 Canal Wall Doctor proudly supports Black Dog and JED Project and is pleased to be able to donate towards this worthy cause this year.

18.01.2022 "Subsidence' is that creepy little guy that appears when you least expect it! You think all is well until one morning you are mowing and you sink up to your knees in your own backyard and the words 'Oh no Subsidence ' on your lips before the mower blades strike you rendering you unconscious - ... ok you may actually utter other words..... This is a sand pump. We use these to correct subsidence near waterfronts. "Subsidence" in waterfront properties is more than often the result of poor wall maintenance. Let us help you keep your wall from letting you down.

16.01.2022 When the joints and weepholes in your wall age and fail, they need Canal wall Doctor to step in and get them back into order. Like a dentist checks your teeth and makes sure they are in the best health they can be - so too Canal wall Doctor checks your wall and gets it back into good health. Subsidence is s sign your wall needs some maintenance done.... Don't wait till it's too late. Get your wall checked !!

15.01.2022 Canal Wall Doctor headed to Noosa recently to do some wooden jetty repairs. Pile wrapping to slow the degeneration of a wooden pile that had not been PVC sleeved. Looks like it broke it;'s leg- with the fibreglass outter coating but now the owner can rest assured the pile will not be rotting away under his jetty anytime soon.

13.01.2022 At Banksia Beach this week. The clients reports that their fence has suddenly subsided. Looking directly infront of the poor fence, we discovered a joint that had been fixed by someone else at some stage. However the correction was not done correctly! Now sand and water flowing had from behind the joint. The footing will have to be dug down to and corrections made to stop the sand coming from behind the wall. and the sealing will have to be re done.

13.01.2022 Another beautiful day on Bribie Island. Our team are working hard to catch up on some revetment wall maintenance.

13.01.2022 Working in Hope Island this wee. Material loos through unsealed joints causes subsidence. All sorted now. Cleaned wall and applied penetrating sealant to help slow the deterioration of the wall surface, resealed joints and got the weepholes working properly. Looking good!

12.01.2022 When Concrete Cancer gets a hold of your revetment wall.... Who you gonna call? (No ... Not the Ghost Busters!!! )Canal Wall Doctor !!!

11.01.2022 The Gold Coast team were working on a wall in Surfer's Pardise today. While scraping off oysters and barnacles (to get to joints that are failing and causing subsidence for this client), it is common for lots of little fish to enjoy this process and they gather around the team. The fish dart around enjoying the smorgasboard of marine yummies to munch on. However today, this young dolphin took advantage of the freshly stirred up, distracted fish and caught himslef a delicious fresh mullet. Thanks Canal Wall Doctor for being a part of the Circle of Life today and for the cool video of a dolphin hunting for a mullet snack.

11.01.2022 Wow what an honour to be named a finalist in the Small Busniess Awards 2017! Well done Canal Wall Doctor Team!

07.01.2022 The team are working hard this week while the tides are so perfect! Can’t ask for a better week with very low tides in the middle of the day. Fantastic weather too - love the Winter tides here at Bribie Island . Canal Wall Doctor team bringing this wall back into good health.

07.01.2022 Can we fix it? YES WE CAN!! Check out the shovel!! Now you see it - now you don't. Voids behind walls - can't see them if there is a concrete slab there! Inspection points behind the revetment wall can save your slab!! We can fill the void under the slab with a sand slurry which filters down compacting and filling the void. this supports your wall and your slab! Having inspection points will mean you can check under that slab after big rain events to ensure your slab is still doing well!

07.01.2022 oops - if you live on the waterfront and your pool surrounds have begun to drop- it is time to check under that slab! Subsidence is an expensive thing to fix once it effects your concrete slab! With inspection points - you can check this regularly and top up if you need to. How long has it been since you checked if your pool is fully supported?

06.01.2022 Looks a bit creepy ! This is a weephole. Very important if you own a waterfront home to not let your weepholes look like this. Note the sludge at the bottom of the hole - well that sludge is material from behind the wall.... you are literally losing your property by the bucket load - a litte everyday with every tide if you don't check your wall's health. Give Canal Wall Doctor a call to get your wall it's health check up.

06.01.2022 When a canal waterfront home has a concrete slab behind , hidden subsidence can be a problem. We can fix it! Putting inspection points in behind your wall is a great idea so you can check at any time that subsidence has begun under the slab. This particular home has lost about 40cm of fill behind the wall . The inspection of his wall indicated the slab had begun to drop and he wisely chose to put in inspection points to monitor! Now we can use sand slurry to fill and compact material behind at a fraction of the cost of removing the slab to deal with the issue.

06.01.2022 Wild weather over the weekend predicted again. Last weekend the weather brought down at least 4 walls in the Gold Coast. How long has it been since you had your wall checked???

05.01.2022 Time for some annual filter changes and wall reports at Banksia Beach. Annual wall reports are a great way to keep on top of wall issues before they develop into bigger problems. Minor corrections to prevent material loss, catching spalling before it develops into major concrete cancer is well worth the annual check up. The team are cleaning the weepholes and reinstating new filters here - after a year it is a good idea to get this done to ensure the weepholes are still flowing as they are engineered to do. When they block up, additional pressure is placed on joints and when joints blow out - subsidence begins. Is it time for your waterfront property's canal wall annual inspection?

05.01.2022 We had a great write up in Boat Magazine this month.

04.01.2022 Canal Wall Doctor attending to concrete spalling in Bribie island last week. The design of the wall has reo close to the surface and unfortunately the reo has been effected ad required concrete treatment.

03.01.2022 Annual Canal Cleaning at Raby Bay last week. The team worked hard in the hot sun but the results were excellent.

03.01.2022 Canal wall's have weepholes and joints. overtime these no longer function as designed. That's where we come in. Canal Wall Doctor is your canal wall maintenance specialist. Subsidence behind your wall? Stop material coming forward from behind your wall today- book an inspection!

02.01.2022 Peekaboo we see you- This is a weephole with a very old plug. The owner has done the right thing and has installed plugs and filters when their wall's weepholes began to fail. However this is not a once off thing. Weephole filters clog up and need annual replacement. Oysters and other marine life grow over the weephole (see our friends below) and obstruct the engineered capability of the weephole. Time for your annual check up?

02.01.2022 Spalling or concrete cancer is a major issue in Revetment Walls. If your wall has bulging or cracking on the surface you may well have a problem looming under the surface. When reo becomes exposed to salt water and air it corrodes. We chase out the effected concrete surrounding the reo, treat the reo and repackaged the area with. I bonding agents . All Revetment walls need to be checked annually for changes.
