24.01.2022 We are loving hearing the stories behind the beautiful handmade ceramics in our shop. This time we hear from Sue Hewat Ceramics. Sue's work is inspired by the tidelines of the beaches of the south coast of NSW and the silhouette of the Brindabella Ranges in the ACT. Her work is currently available in the Canberra Potters Shop - 1 Aspinall Street Watson 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Sunday. Support your local artists. #handmade #supportyourlocalartist #connectingthroughclay #ceramicsaustralia #artisanceramics #canberraartist #suehewatceramics

08.01.2022 Back before Covid came along and changed the world we were musing about mugs. In fact, we had asked members to help us create a Canberra Potters mug to sell in the shop. Well, applications are still open. We have had a few lovely entries but we’re sure there’s more out there. As we all start to raise our heads and live in this new reality there’s more space to start thinking about making and creating. The brief is open. We want something to remind us of Canberra Potters and t...he beautiful ACT. You can interpret through colour, shape, style. It’s up to you. If you’d like to chat about what’s involved contact Sue at [email protected] or follow the link in our bio for more details. Applications will remain open for the next month or two so why not give it a go. I can’t think of a better way to toast the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 than with our own special, member designed and created mug. What a great way to connect our clay community. #canberra potters #connectingthroughclay #ceramicmug #pottery #ceramics #australianceramics #ceramicsaustralia #clay #kiln #handmade #artisanceramics #potterymug See more

08.01.2022 As a Thai-born Australian artist, a cross-cultural experience is in my blood and it is my passion to share this experience with others. Cultural diversity helps... me understand the conflicts and contradictions in race, religious and sexual discrimination from personal, regional and global points of view. It is the reason why I am actively involved in organised cultural exchange projects between artists internationally. I am so thrilled to partner with Joshua Collinson from The Ceramic School and Dr. Wendy Gers, leading international curator, to launch a registered charity: Ceramics for Charity. Ceramics For Charity is a brand new fundraising platform launching on 1st August 2020. It seamlessly combines technology, art and community. The digital platform allows us to organise a cultural exchange project and reach out to distant communities in a way I have never previously can. Please join the kick-off conference this weekend and experience the spectacular diversity of our global ceramics community. We have artists from South Africa, Botswana, Canada, the USA, Guatemala, Argentina, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, the UK, New Zealand and Australia donating their time to host online workshops for the conference. We also have over 100 artworks donated for the raffle & curated exhibition. Over 200 people have registered for this weekend! When you purchase a Ticket: ($USD10.00) You get one entry into the raffle You get to watch ALL of the online workshops You help raise money for charity! To buy tickets and find out more detail please visit www.CeramicsForCharity.com I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me share this opportunity to people who might be interested.

06.01.2022 Many of you will know John Tuckwell from his workshops at CPS, and will be saddened to read this news that he has had a bad stroke. I know you will all join in wishing him a full recovery as quickly as possible.

05.01.2022 This project is well worth supporting if you can. Su is making a really positive contribution to indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. Remember her wonderful talk at the Triennale in Canberra in 2015. We can help her continue this fantastic work.

04.01.2022 Also enjoy this video of the official opening of Hiroe’s exhibition by Paul Davis.
