11.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE! - Celebrating 50 years of ASHA Date: Thursday 26 November 2020 Time: 6.30-8.30pm AEDT Location: Online and in-person across Australasia... 50 years ago, on the 26th November 1970, the first Australian Society for Historical Archaeology (ASHA) meeting was held at the University of Sydney. That evening, ASHA was founded to promote the study of historical archaeology in Australia. In 1991, the Society was expanded to include New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region, and its name was changed to the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology. To celebrate 50 years of ASHA, we will be holding a special event and hope you can join us. The event will include past and present ASHA Presidents, guest speakers, an announcement of the ASHA Award winners and an online display of archival material from the early (and not-so-early) days of ASHA. Event requests: We would love to see as many of you engaging in the event as possible. So, feel to gather a small group of socially distanced friends and/or colleagues and join us via Zoom on the night! Registration details will be sent shortly through Eventbrite. We look forward to seeing there!
