Meanwhile Harrison hit out at the 400 free and Owen in the 200 free both with sold swims. Milaina had her first swim of the meet in the 100 Fly. Some people might not find it easy to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK, but it could change a life. R U OK have released an interactive conversation roleplay video to help you learn what to say after R U OK? Visit www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask to get started and learn how to ask R U OK?, listen, encourage action and check in.

09.01.2022 Vale Merv and Beth Knowles - It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Merv Knowles, former member of the Canberra Amateur Swimming Club and Club Champion in 1940 and 1941. Merv was Manuka Pool’s most dedicated swimmer and along with his family has a rich Canberra history. He passed away on Tuesday 14 July, Merv was 98. Merv was married to Beth for 74 years who sadly also passed away on 19 July at age 93. ... Merv’s older brother, Lindsay, was also a member of the Club and had been club champion in 1935-36 season with their father, Sir George Knowles, a former President of Canberra ASC. Manuka Pool first opened in December 1930 and Canberra Amateur Swimming Club was formed immediately on the opening of the pool - we share our 90th Birthday in December. Our thoughts are with the Knowles family and Friends of Manuka Pool community at this time.

08.01.2022 One of the many thing we love about our Canberra ASC community is that our members are active in raising awareness and advocating for social issues. Super star Sarah Smith is no different and is walking 60km to make a difference to the lives of people touched by mental illness and suicide as part of the Black Dog Institute One Foot Forward campaign. Funds raised by Sarah will go towards life-changing research into treatment and prevention of mental illness, as well as vital support services.
