11.01.2022 Whats that noise in my ear? Tinnitus is the awareness of noise in one, or both, ears and/or in the head in the absence of the sound in the environment. It is common and normal to experience tinnitus in extremely quiet environments. For most people, it does not impact greatly on their quality of life. However, others can find it debilitating, affecting work and social life. If this is the case ida institute and British Tinnitus Association has published a helpful Tinnitus First Aid Kit http://www.tinnituskit.com/. Canberra Audiology also provides services to assist those with debilitating tinnitus and can be booked online or call 6156 4474. 06.01.2022 The Must Have scent of the season! Health and safety of our patients and staff is our highest priority at Canberra Audiology with the unfolding COVID-19 situation in Australia. We want to reassure our patients that we take it seriously and have escalated our hygiene practices to ensure the safest environment possible by sanitizing surfaces and equipment after each patient. Toys, magazines and brochures have also been removed temporarily. Please avail yourself of the hand-sanitizer provided at reception and in the waiting room. We ask that any patients that have traveled overseas within the past month or have flu-like symptoms advise us prior to attending their appointment. Thank you for your consideration and patience.

06.01.2022 "Its quieter in the snow!" Heres a way to justify your next trip to the snow according to our Practice Manager, Lisa who has just returned from a snowy holiday in Hokkaido, Japan. It appears the reason for this calming silence is that the characteristics of snow play a big role in how sound can travel. When light, fluffy snow accumulates on the ground, it acts as a sound absorber, dampening sound waves much like commercial sound absorbing products.

06.01.2022 Please welcome our new audiologist, Jessica Cross! Jess is a graduate from Macquarie University and has a background in speech pathology. So, if you see a new face in the clinic, please dont be afraid to say "hello" :)
