04.01.2022 Mallacoota Time is a number 1 best seller on Amazon. I have been following the progress of this book since its early days of publication. Mallacoota is a special town that is like an island inside the Croajinolong National Park. Shared by Dianne Porter Founder and convener of Canberra Christian Writers' Group.

03.01.2022 A SENSE OF PLACE For my overseas friends - a feeling in the Australian landscape is of dryness and heat. Relief seems hard to find. When we find bodies of water they are often solid looking like the water in this photo. There often seems to be a hard line between the dry land and the wet water that takes effort to cross. The land is old and solid so time has a feeling it moves slowly in our bush so we do the same. The bush has an effect of making you feel like you cannot... go any faster than slow and you cannot talk any faster than slow either. Sometimes all you can do is be still and enjoy the stillness that has an everlasting quality that permeates all of you and brings you into a moment that lasts a long time. Moving on from a moment like this you somehow take it with you so it embodies everything you do from then on. It can be hard to come out of it. This photo by Glen Parsons really captures that sense of the Australian land for me as it affects my own soul. Glen takes photos of sunset and sunrise most days. When I see them each day I often get a glimpse of this sense of space I have shared here. In this photo I can really feel the land of my birth. I can hover at the entrance way to the dreamtime spirituality of country the traditional owners know and share as I contemplate it. The bible verse that comes to me is this one Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 Take a moment to drink in the view and see if you can sense it too. Dianne Porter 2/2/2021
