19.01.2022 Due to a last minute cancellation, we have a spot free at the Susan Elekessy dressage clinic this Saturday. Why not take the opportunity to train with one of th...e best riders/trainers/breeders in the country. She is just back from Willinga Park where her home bred Don Rubin won the Intermediate, Grand Prix CDN and Grand Prix Dressage, both weeks! We are lucky to have her squeeze us in for a clinic before she heads down to Melbourne for Dressage and Jumping with the Stars. We do need numbers to make this clinic a regular occurrence for the region, please consider supporting clinics like this. :) See more

09.01.2022 | GASTRIC ULCERS & COLIC | Over the last few months, Yass Valley Veterinary has been overwhelmed with colic cases, of varying severity. Horses with gastric ulce...rs present in many different ways unfortunately colic can be one of the signs. Typically the colic associated with gastric ulceration will be intermittent & low grade in nature. Occasionally horses that suffer from this will also grind their teeth, excessively salivate, have diarrhoea, or be lying down frequently. We are very lucky to have Randlab Pty Ltd supporting another day of gastric scoping FREE of charge to you. (however, for each horse participating in the day, there is a heavily subsidised sedation fee) If you suspect that your horse may be one of these cases, or have suspicions of ulcers otherwise, please call our reception at Murrumbateman on 6227 5955, or Yass on 6226 4444 to book your horse in for our scoping day. 06.01.2022 2 Day Specialised Eventing Clinic - 20th - 21st of July 2019 at Gundagai This is a 2 day full on eventing clinic covering all aspects of eventing. Looking at ri...ding each of the 3 phases plus everything you may never learn in a standard lesson or not 100% sure on. We will be going thru each phase extensively. Dressage - The warm up, riding a test and finding those bonus marks. Cross-country - warm up, riding different types of fences and terrians/going, riding to time. Showjumping - Warm-up, riding a showjump course, showjump exercises for the eventer. Covering a vast range of other topics such as equipment, rules, horse fitness, rider fitness, horse health, care of the eventer pre, during and post event. Riding a course (mock event - about half a course). Plus anything else riders suggest and we will try to include it. We will also have a guest speaker for the Saturday night talking more about our horses health and care. We will also individually go thru and come up with a program with each combination to help have a clearer understanding of planning an eventing season. This is a 2 day clinic - no one day option as we build on from the previous day as well as cover different topics each day. As this is an intensive clinic this is aimed at those already competing competently. So that we can build on from the basic knowledge. Ideally competing at 80cm or potetenial to move up to that level - Or those combinations competing regularly at the 45-60cm height. If you are unsure just give Brianna a call to discuss. This is a great rare learning opportunity to learn of each other, pick the brains of those you need too plus get to meet other like minded people. In this lovely sport of eventing we love to help and support each other. much time and thought has gone into putting it all together. Bonus special guests to also come pending confirmation. Plus plenty of extra special prizes. Cost is all inclusive! Includes hire of grounds and equipment, camping and stabling, lunch both days, breakfast Sunday and dinner on Saturday night (for rider) plus 2 big days of instruction. $450 per rider/horse Limited to 12 combinations will require min 8 to run.
