25.01.2022 Year 2020 by far has been challenging across the globe. Australia suffered from ferocious bushfires, causing devastating damages to our land and wildlife. The nation was not yet recovered when the COVID-19 pandemic followed closely. This highly infectious disease has caused many deaths worldwide, affecting numerous individuals and businesses socially and economically. Meanwhile, lives of many, particularly those in underdeveloped countries, are threatened by famine and natura...l disasters, as a result of global climate impacts. Due to the circumstances, Canberra Moon Festival will not take place this year and will return in 2021. After the 2019 festival successfully reaching an accumulation of 70K+ visitors, the executive team of Canberra Moon Festival (aka CMF, non-profit community event) has registered to become a non-profit community organisation, namely Canberra Multicultural Alliance Association (CMAA). Alongside annual CMF, CMAA will create quality events/activities with broader cultural and formal varieties and welcome you onboard for future projects that highly encourage community engagement and cultural interactions. A virtual celebration themed WE ARE ONE will be launched from Thursday, 1 Oct 2020 instead of a conventional event. It is to carry on Moon Festival’s original implications of reunion and harmony, as well as event slogan One Community, One World, One Family to send a positive message to those bearing hardship here in Australia and around the world, regardless of nationality and race. Today’s humanity lives in an interdependent ecosystem, in the aspect of natural environment, public health, food, economy, intellectual resources, and so on. 25.01.2022 2018 marks a milestone in the very short history of CMF, our team then named Fun Canberra attempted for the first time a 3-day (from half a day in 2017) outdoor event. Everything was expanded to our limit and the crowd was very pleased from non-stop stage shows (cosplay contest, cultural and modern performances, and talent show), food and beverage caters and Easter show scale amusement park for the little ones. We even achieved a handmade gigantic mooncake that broke the reco...rd of the BIGGEST mooncake in the ACT region. With so much positive feedback from our crowd, this is the point when our team found our confidence and gained strength in believing we were on the right track to bringing multicultural experience to brighten up Canberra life. #cmf2020weareone #cmf2020 #virtual #celebration #moon #festival #culture #performance #art #music #language

20.01.2022 This is where all this began. Our team attempted at a half-day outdoor event at the front plaza of Canberra Theatre Centre, thanks to the enormous support from CTC and the Multicultural Office. Everything was on a smaller scale then, stage, food and entertaining activities. Yet it was all so worthy when all the effort harvested smiles and cheers from our crowd. It was a very interactive and satisfying afternoon that our team will never ever forget.... We would like to take a moment to say gratitude to you all who have visited our events in the past years. Without you, we could never have made it this far. There are so much to improve and so much we'd like to create in the future for a more colourful multicultural life in Canberra and maybe in the near future it will become a signature tourism attraction to all Australians. We are on our way to make all that come true. And you are a significant part of our dream. We cannot wait to see you all in 2021!
