25.01.2022 Good luck to our teams playing in the ACT State Triples this weekend. The men will be playing on Saturday out at Canberra Bowls club and the women will be on Sunday at Yowani. We have had 4 teams enter the men’s draw and 2 for the women.

25.01.2022 Club Championship Draws for Women’s & Men’s 2021 Major Pairs. Today the draws were done for both the men’s and women’s pairs. Games start on the 16th of January but are not play or forfeit. Thanks to the 62 players that entered combined in total (7 teams for the women and 24 for the men). Big numbers for us . 25.01.2022 Results from the 23rd of July and the 25th of July 2020. Womens Major Singles Semi Final Denise Rutherford defeated Lyndell Dobbs... Mens Major Pairs Quarter Finals Peter Totterdell & Kevin Deeves defeated Mark Carter & Jim Saunders Reg Jackson & Ken Dowrick defeated Rob Rawson & Beau Johnston (This match was played on the 23/7) Mens Major Pairs Round of 16 Ian Hueston & Peter White defeated Joel Armstrong & Michael Quinane In the ACT Mens Singles we had Beau Johnston and Nathan Savino play on the 25th of July with Beau losing to Ian Whybrow and Nathan defeating Darren Walsh. Nathan will be playing against Mac McLean in the Quarter Final.

23.01.2022 Congrats to our very own Canberra North team in Ian Hueston and Peter White on making it through to tomorrows quarter finals in the ACT Over 60 Men’s Pairs. They will be playing at 9:15 over at Tuggeranong. Also well done to the other four teams who entered and represented the club. Participating and getting out on the green is what we need in Bowls ACT and to have so many teams play from our club is a credit to everyone involved.

21.01.2022 Club Championship Results from 11/7/2020 Men’s Major Singles Round of 16... Peter White defeated Tom Kovac 25-7 Men’s Major Pairs Quarter Finals Peter Hudson and Nathan Savino defeated Terry Munro and Rob Patterson 25-10 Last 16 Mark Carter & Jim Saunders defeated Peter Hughes & John Ross 23-11 All other games were not completed because of inclement weather. Players will be notified when their games will be completed.

18.01.2022 Men’s Pennant Results from Round 2 of the Bowls ACT Season. We reversed last weeks result of having three grades winning as only one grade managed to have a win. 18.01.2022 Entries are building up for both the men’s and women’s singles and pairs championships for 2021. If you want to enter in the events please don’t hesitate to put your name down on the notice board .

17.01.2022 Congrats to the Women’s Pennants side on the first game and first win of the season today against Queanbeyan. The side ably skippered by Deb McGown and Kate Murray played wonderfully to take both rinks 22-13 and 21-17 respectively. Super start to the year Also a big congrats to Louise Stenhouse today on her first game of pennants for the club. Welcome to the family Next week they will be playing Yowani at Canberra North so if you aren’t busy next Saturday come and check out the games :)

15.01.2022 Results from the women’s and men’s pennants and our club men’s major pairs. Women’s and Men’s Pennant Results The women had a 54-30 win over Tuggeranong which was a magnificent effort. Well played ladies ... The 1’s had a 42-90 loss to Weston Creek with all three rinks going down. The 3’s went down 55-60 to Yass with one rink getting the chocolates. The 5’s had a win over Belconnen 60-49 with two rinks winning. The 6’s went down against Bungendore 49-68 with one rink winning. Again thank you so much to the 26 players who played today as well as the 13 markers. Without a huge support from our bowlers our championships can’t run in an efficient manner. Round of 64 games... 14.01.2022 Our Men’s Fours Semi Finals are on this Saturday. We would love it if as many people as possible supported the four teams still left. If the weather holds up our 2020 bowls season will end on the 14th of November.

14.01.2022 Unfortunately the championships scheduled for today have been called off because of the rain. Alas the weather gods have hit us again.

12.01.2022 Ladies Triples Winners Congrats to Bev Dowrick, Kate Schipp and Deb McGown in winning the final today They managed to win against Lesley Barnsley, Hilary McClure and Denise Seaton.

12.01.2022 Results from Round 3 of the Men’s ACT Pennant season No.1’s lost to Qrsl 51-56 (4-8) No.3’s defeated Tuggeranong 60-56 (10-2) No.5’s lost to Canberra 46-58 (0-12)... No.6’s lost to Weston Creek 54-57 (3-9) The 3’s had a strong result beating Tuggeranong and are now 1st. Great result guys The 6’s fought valiantly against Weston. Here’s hoping they can get their first win next week The 5’s and 1’s unfortunately went down but I’m sure they will bounce back next week Also a big thank you to the managers that helped today and to the Ruc for hosting three grades on the one day.

11.01.2022 During daylight saving all social bowls start at 10am, with names to be in by 9am. This applies Tuesday through to Saturday. No bowls on Sunday or Monday.

11.01.2022 Unfortunately none of our grades won on the weekend. Wasn’t due to lack of effort or heart but we just didn’t finish first past the post. ACT Singles start this week with a few players from both the women and men to represent our amazing club . Hopefully we can get some supporters out to watch on both Saturday and Sunday :)

11.01.2022 Congratulations to the team of Ian Hueston, Peter White, Nathan Savino and Rob Kelly on their fours win today over Reg Jackson, Graeme Marks, Kevin Deeves and Beau Johnston. The game was played in a fantastic spirit and having so many people watching it made it a great day for lawn bowls. The team led by Beau were in it right to the last few ends and the score doesn’t justify how close it was. Also congrats to Nathan Savino for being the first male bowler in the history of Canberra North to win all 4 major championships in the one season.

07.01.2022 Our last club championship for 2020 is down to the final after today’s two semis were completed in the Men’s Fours. It’s been a different year bowls wise in 2020 but we are so grateful to everyone who has supported and played in the championships. Our 2021 season is going to kick off with the Terry Doyle day on January 24 and interest in that event has been amazing as has the pennant numbers thus far. ... To have nearly 60 names down in November is a fantastic sign that people support pennants at Canberra North. Results from Saturday 7th November 2020 Reg Jackson, Graeme Marks, Kevin Deeves and Beau Johnston defeated Noel Gallagher, Bryan Hurrell, Rob Patterson and Murray Sutherland. Ian Hueston, Peter White, Nathan Savino and Rob Kelly defeated Peter Hudson, Mort Schipp, Michael Quinane and Peter Totterdell.

01.01.2022 Women’s Singles Final Hilary Kent defeated Denise Rutherford 25-20 in the final of the Women’s Major Singles last Saturday. That makes two club singles for Hilary as she also won in 2017. Congrats to Hilary and a great effort by Denise on making another final.

01.01.2022 The Women’s Major Singles continued today with the quarter finals wrapping up. Bev Dowrick defeated Denise Seaton Lesley Barnsley defeated Louise Stenhouse... Lyndell Dobbs defeated Hilary McClure Amanda Urbanc defeated Lyn Grigg So for the semi finals Bev plays Lesley and Lyndell plays Amanda for a place in the final. Well done ladies :)
