21.01.2022 Congratulations to the Rev. Geoff Wellington, ordained today as Deacon, by the Canberra Region Presbytery, in the Gungahlin Uniting Church building. Co-chairs Judy McKinlay and Ross Kingham conducted the service, former President Gregor Henderson preached, colleague ministers Sarah and Jangwon offered scripture, while Aimee, Karyl and Daniel offered prayers. Moderator Simon Hansford inducted Geoff and Tim Jensen to serve with Mark Faulkner on the saltbush team. A joyful occasion with many people joining online via ZOOM.

17.01.2022 A collection of clergy, gathered in Goulburn, just for Julie: saying farewell as she flees north to Queensland, responding to God’s call to minister in Southport.

15.01.2022 Today, for the third time this year, members of Presbytery met online, to conduct the business of the Presbytery, and be enthused about the wonderful mission and ministry taking place in the capital area of the ACT, in the surrounding rural regions to the north and south of Canberra, and innthe south-east region of NSW, from Batemans Bay south to the Victorian border.

13.01.2022 Worship this morning at Tuggeranong provided a once-in-three-years opportunity to reflect on a story from the book of Judges. The passage offered today, from ch...apter 4, has a focus on Deborah, an impressive female leader in the period of the Judges. Elizabeth Raine offered her considered thoughts on this key biblical figure, and Maxine Gray Catt Palamountain led some insightful and compassionate prayers with a particular orientation on female leadership in the world today (remembering Kamala Harris, Angela Merkel, and Jacinta Arden, amongst others). We ended with John Bell’s wonderful hymn, Enemy of Apathy, celebrating the work of the spirit, presented as a female dove who is active in the world today See more
