23.01.2022 The National Sheep Dog Trial is underway at Hall!

20.01.2022 My main girl Sugar is about 8yo now and we have years of experience working together. I hardly have to give her any commands and she is a pleasure to work. In this video I wandered through the yards opening the gates to bring the rams through, and I turned around to find her bringing them up for me without command. A dog that knows it’s job is invaluable! Sugar gets to be the back up for dogs who come to learn how to work sheep as she is so reliable

17.01.2022 Sheepwork this week, here is Woody bringing in a mob of ram lambs to be sorted up for sale. Woody is still pretty inexperienced at real work and I take every chance to let him do simpler jobs on his own to build his (and my!) confidence. Rams are great for him as they can be heavy to work, meaning they don’t run away as easily, which means we both have more time to think about what we are doing and to stay calm!
