23.01.2022 Meet Emily and her gorgeous daughter Charlotte. Emily took on the Hair Dare to make a difference after her mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which spread to her lymph nodes. "Witnessing your mum lose weight, become sick and tired every day, struggle to heal from endless surgeries and lose all her hair... is completely heartbreaking. Cancer affects everyone, not just the patient. Cancer is a devastating disease.... Wouldn't it be wonderful if no family had to go through this? Sure people say shaving our hair seems super brave and courageous, but it's such a small thing to do compared with what cancer patients face every day. Hair grows back... that's simple. Gaining a healthy life back is so much harder." Thank you to Emily and Charlotte for helping fund life-changing research that means one day we WILL see a world without cancer.

21.01.2022 Rebecca Darling is Mum to three teenagers, and her world was turned upside down earlier this year when she was diagnosed with a rare form of Thyroid cancer. After multiple diagnoses and complications, she endured three surgeries in four days, followed by 11 days of intensive care. And Rebecca’s cancer journey did not stop there... She then endured frequent daily injections and had to stick to a very strict diet to help her body heal.... But thanks to the incredible treatments now available because of research, Rebecca is on the road to recovery. Throughout this hard time, Rebecca told us her amazing children have been her rock. In September, they even banded together to show their support for their Mum and joined the ACRF Hair Dare. Rebecca and her daughter, Ebony, pictured here, shaved their heads, and her son and eldest daughter dyed their hair blue to raise funds for cancer research. Let’s give the Darling family a pat on the back for raising over $2,700 to help fund life-changing cancer research!

17.01.2022 Carly just took on the Hair Dare and wanted to share her AWESOME new 'do with you! "I have family members and colleagues undergoing treatment for cancer and I have lost a dear friend to it. The thought of being diagnosed with cancer, then multiple doctor's appointments, operations and treatment is a terrifying thought, yet it occurs every second of every day. This disease leaves a trail of destruction and robs families.... This worldwide pandemic is leaving our most vulnerable people at more risk and we must do as much as we can to lessen the impact. Times are tough, but for people living with cancer, it is crucial that money is raised to assist them. It takes a village!" Let's give Carly a round of applause for being brave enough to take on the Hair Dare! Carly, you're incredible.

16.01.2022 "I found my first benign tumour, a fibroadenoma when I was 28. Fibroadenomas are solid non-cancerous breast lumps that come, they go, they shrink, they grow. But I had regular ultrasounds, so all monitored and going ok... In early July, I made a pit stop for an ultrasound and a biopsy, which confirmed once again it was a fibroadenoma, and I was set to see the specialist to talk about a quick lumpectomy. On August 20 the breast specialist popped her ultrasound thingy on the lump and immediately scrunched her nose up and said no, that biopsy is wrong. https://www.acrf.com.au//fu/kristy-takes-on-the-hair-dare/
