24.01.2022 The World Health Organisation launched a strategy for the global elimination of cervical cancer, which is projected to save 62 million lives globally. Australia continues to lead the way with our cervical cancer prevention programs. We are proud to be working with World Health Organization (WHO) to share Australia’s innovations, research and knowledge with the communities who need it most, as we aim to improve these inequalities in access.

21.01.2022 During COVID-19, many things have been delayed. But it’s time for Tasmanian women to put cervical screening back on top of their to-do list. And the best news is the new Cervical Screening Test is more accurate and occurs less often! Most cervical cancers can be prevented by screening regularly so it is important that all women aged 25-74 screen every 5 years. If you are due for cervical screening, don’t delay book an appointment today.

17.01.2022 There are so many delicious fruits available at this time of the year in Tasmania. They are yummy on their own, a great addition in salads and breakfast cereals or as a snack with yoghurt. The natural chemicals in fruit (phytochemicals) may help to protect the cells in the body from damage that can lead to cancer and they are full of fibre. Aim to have two serves of fruit everyday. 13.01.2022 A huge thank you to the Green’s Beach Community who recently held a very successful fundraiser over two weekends and raised an incredible $4,600. for Cancer Council Tasmania. This was an alternative to their Biggest Morning Tea and included a garage sale, book sales, scones, BBQ and raffles. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this such a success and for everyone who supported them.

10.01.2022 Carol popped in recently to donate the proceeds of her and her friends annual Melbourne Cup Ladies Lunch. Each year a group of 12-14 friends get together to enjoy Cup festivities and raise money for a chosen charity. This year they selected Cancer Council Tasmania and raised $647.90 Thanks ladies!

07.01.2022 Stella and Daisy’s grandmother had cancer and was a keen gardener. For the last three years, they have grown daffodils and sold them to fundraise for Cancer Council Tasmania. This year, Daisy thought they sold over 200 bunches and raised and amazing $225. Great work Stella and Daisy!
