15.01.2022 I had chats with a friend today on the beach, we both work in health and we both experience a lot of women coming to us seeking our guidance, assistance and motivation. I don’t take it lightly, neither does she. The responsibility of how we show up for our clients, we put a lot of thought in to. The discussion was around the pressure and expectations we place on our selves (and have placed upon us by others) to be skinny. I haven’t come across many women who haven’t had some ...sort of control issue around their eating or exercise at some point in time. Sometimes when I suggest a client let go of unrealistic ideals of what weight they feel they should be, it’s like I have told them someone’s died. We have both seen clients under eat, over exercise, and say goodbye to having their monthly period as a result... and I feel this sense of responsibility, to not feed in to the obsession. Exercise in an incredible tool for building physical and emotional resilience. It can help us be present to our physical self which we so often aren’t in connection with. Let us use our workouts in a way that allows us to be with what is, in a way that helps us to stay connected with our body, and what matters, rather than trying to get away from it - our body that is! Accepting how much you currently weigh doesn’t mean complacency or giving up on goals... Ironically, when we give up the battle of trying to get away from what is, we get to where we want to go a whole lot faster with a lot less resistance. Goals are good. Just make sure the steps that get you there are nourishing you!



14.01.2022 I shared the most beautiful wintery, watery Cancerian moon rise swim this evening down on Tallows, wasn’t she magnificent. Also, I have so benefited from the extra time away from my phone last month, so I will continue keeping off this platform the remainder of July.... 13.01.2022 Today as a client and I were finishing up our session, she shared with me how resistant she feels when she first begins her workouts. I would say from working with her for some time now, her resistance is present during the first half of almost every session, and then it kind of just drops away from one set to the next, it’s palpable. The funny thing is, we all experience resistance to various things in our lives, for me it’s every damn time I meditate, I have to ha...ve a chat to my inner teenager who wants to give any of my spiritual practices the finger whenever I sit.. daily! So how do you move past resistance? Firstly by acknowledging its presence and letting it be there! I truly feel that the resistant part within me calms right down when I don’t expect she will ever go away... I just allow her to be there, tuck her under my arm, and get on with what ever I had planned to do. It takes a little work to get to know these parts of our selves at times, and some strength to parent that part within that doesn’t want to be still, or turn off her phone, or work out.. or what ever it is that makes her/him want to dig their hooves in, its a working with, rather than against type energy! And if you’re in a real funk, I also suggest dancing to a wild song for a hot minute to shake it out of you.. My fav song is Fela Kuti’s - Lets Start!! It goes for about 7 minutes and it’s my serious gateway/highway back to my higher self... See more

12.01.2022 There is just that little more magic on that mountain when you are up to catch the last moments between night and day.
