24.01.2022 I Am (2017-2020) He is called many things, but the greatest is 'I Am'. 'I Am' was born out of numerous encounters with my Creator and experiencing firsthand His relentless love and grace. Realising that the depth of His love for you and me goes beyond all comprehension. When life gets overwhelming Exodus 14:14 is His promise. "The Lord will fight for you. You need only be still".... The verse above is something I can attest to in my own life. Now this piece has a long history. I originally created it in 2017 and then earlier this year I felt like it needed to be reworked. I've never stripped an artwork back before. It was an interesting process. I Am is an artwork that has a rich meaning that will hopefully speak something unique to each person who comes across it. Lions can be depicted in many ways but I love that this one shows both the essence of strength and gentleness in the same image. As Van Gogh once said, "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?" This piece took alot of courage to create and share. It goes a bit deeper into my heart and identity and being vulnerable with a wider audience isn't easy. It creates room for criticism. But I believe it's important that authenticity shows through in my work. Not everyone will agree or like what I create and that's okay. Art is subjective and it's an experience. But for those who connect with this piece I hope that it blesses you.

24.01.2022 This is one of my commissions from late last year completed in graphite. This was a piece celebrating a beautiful relationship and the life of a special Man. Portraits like these are so much more than a drawing and I'm always so honoured and humbled when asked to create something so personal for someone.

21.01.2022 Well here we are in 2021. I'm not sure what to expect but am quietly excited for a fresh start that the new year seems to bring. A whole 365 days to enjoy, grow and make memories. I'm so grateful for so many things that 2020 brought. The incredible surgery that saved our girl. The opportunity to teach my kiddos from home (something I've always wanted to do). And the push to evolve in my business and grow in ways I had only dreamed of. I pushed through so many fears and doubt...s. It's ironic how it sometimes takes for everything to be taken away for you to finally take a step forward. I also learned a valuable lesson in balance (or lack there of). I'm so grateful for all that 2020 blessed me with but I was absolutely burnt out by the end of it. With the new year rolling around I desperately needed a break. A complete disconnect. With December being a time for most businesses to ramp up, i just couldn't. I instead chose to work quietly away from social media and it has been really nice to reconnect with a daily rhythm that's not directed by chaos. 2021 doesnt promise a great deal. We aren't quite out of the woods but I'm choosing to make 2021 the year of a reset. I don't know about you but I'm desperate for one. It doesn't mean I won't face challenges but I'm going to use this year to reset my priorities and my mindset and learn to look at challenges as an exciting opportunity to grow and learn rather than something to avoid at all costs. I know there are many hard things we had to experience in 2020. It's important to acknowlege the struggles but gratititude also helps with healing and creating a new perspective. I would love to hear what your favourite thing about 2020 was and what you are hoping for in 2021. Be sure to leave a comment below. I hope this year brings a wonderful rhythm and a sense of adventure. X

18.01.2022 Through his eyes (2020) If you have been following me for awhile you know I love drawing eyes. I wanted to create an original piece that might encourage unity. 2020 has certainly been a year where we have had to lay our differences down in many ways and come together for the greater good. While it's been difficult for many ,there are so many amazing things that have come out of working together and the need to strip life back and really reasses what's important. I think compa...ssion for others is definitely one of those things. Taking the time to check in on your neighbour or saying hi to a stranger or just being more present with those closest to us. Ultimately we are made for community and we need each other and thats a good thing. "While we are all humans living on the same planet, every single person that has ever existed from the beginning of time, has not only been created to be uniquely different but each was has an intricate story that makes up who they are today. Sometimes we get caught up in our own story and don't take the time to understand someone else's. Its only through listening and understanding that we can truly offer grace and compassion to others. The very person next to you may have a story you may never understand. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't try." And just a reminder, My HOPE Series goes live tomorrow via my website. Link in my bio.

15.01.2022 The third in my Hope Series is Clarity (2020) Sometimes you need to sink below the surface. Sit in the silence and allow the waves to wash over you. And with new strength and clarity rise again. I wanted this piece to be bright and inspiring because while lifes challenges can weigh us down, they can also refine us and grow us. It's not about how far we fall. Its about how well we rise and with that rise usually comes a renewed strength and a new perspective. And that my fri...ends is a beautiful thing. *The reference image for this artwork was taken by Elements Photography. If you don't already follow her, you should go and check out her stunning work.

14.01.2022 And last one in my HOPE Series, Surrender (2020) Standing at the edge, not knowing what's next but having the faith to walk into it anyway. Letting go of the narrative that holds you back and trading the comfort of familiarity for your greatest adventure yet. Surrender explores the art of letting go. It is not a sign of weakness or the action of giving up.... Letting go is pursuing your purpose even if others doubt you. Letting go is forgiving even when it hurts. Letting go is choosing authenticity over fitting in. Letting go is choosing to believe you can achieve great things and doing it, even when you feel like you can't. Letting go is choosing to grow through your struggles rather than letting them define you. Letting go is walking through the door even though you don't know what is on the other side. Letting go is having faith to move forward even if you can't see what's ahead. I hope you've enjoyed this little recap of the 6 artworks from the Hope series. It's been such an adventure creating them and I have learnt so much along the way. 2020 has had it's ups and downs but I'm so happy to be able to release this series in time for Christmas so that you all can have the opportunity to enjoy it too. HOPE will go live at 10AM EST tomorrow morning. For anyone interested in checking it out, the link for my website is in my BIO. X

13.01.2022 After a whirlwind couple of months it's nice to slow down a little and neglect social media for a few days. To be present with my little family and just catch up on life. And I should probably tend to my severely overgrown garden... yeah I'll get to that. I swear there are not enough hours in a day to achieve all I need to. Can anyone relate? I'm taking a short break from new artworks to work on some Christmas commissions. But I will fill your feed instead with beautiful imag...ery from sweet Family Stories. I feel so blessed to have the most amazing clients. How sweet is this image? It's such a good reminder to slow down and enjoy being with those you love. With the Christmas season here we can all fall into the trap of not being present or rushing to keep up with a jam packed schedule. The world, especially at this time of the year moves so quickly. Let's enjoy what's left of one crazy year and make sure it ends better than it started. And just a little side note for anyone wanting to book a 2021 Family Story or sneak in a 2020 session. If you would like to receive a complimentary 8x10 mounted Fine Art print of your favourite image from your Family Story be sure to get in touch and book your session by the end of November. Only a few days left.

10.01.2022 This Christmas I hope you are surrounded by the love and kindness of family, friends and neighbours and that you will find comfort in this season if you are unable to be with the ones you love most. Never underestimate the blessing you can be to others just by giving them your time or offering kindness. Often the greatest gifts are not of the material kind. Friends let your light shine, stay safe and enjoy this blessed season. Xx

08.01.2022 HOPE IS NOW LIVE! It started in Covid lockdown with the creation of Calm Waters and over the last 6 months my HOPE Series has evolved into a collection of 6 artworks. Each with it's own unique message. All created in soft pastel, using beautiful high quality materials and come professionally framed in beautiful solid timber frames sourced right here in OZ and UV Non-reflective glass. This has to be some of my best work yet. I'm just so grateful for this journey and everyone ...who has encouraged me along the way. I hope you enjoy exploring these pieces and that you connect with the meanings that they hold. You may even find that they speak to you in their own unique way and if they do I would absolutely love to know what you see. You can access my site via the link in My bio. I have a shopping cart set up for my gallery for easy purchasing. If however you would prefer to deal directly with me, feel free to get in touch via the contact page of my site or email me on [email protected]. C x

07.01.2022 Late last year Mylo's portrait made it's way down to Melbourne to my big sister for Christmas. I was so happy with how it turned out once professionally framed in a white Tasmanian oak frame. But I won't lie, at one point I wanted to keep it for myself.
